Despite the White House and the Biden administration heavily touting “Bidenomics,” the American people remain sour on the economy and the government’s cheerleading appears to have fallen on deaf ears.
A slim majority, 51% of Americans, say the economy is getting worse, according to a CNN poll. Moreover, President Joe Biden’s approval rating on the economy stood at 37% and just 30% for inflation specifically.
Independents alone were notably negative on Biden’s handling of his inflation, with 26% supporting him on the issue. 41% of Americans approved of Biden’s overall performance.
Inflation in June stood at 3%, down considerably from its June 2022 high of 9.1%, though it remains roughly double the 1.4% it was in January 2021, when Biden took office. more
