FOX13- REDMOND, Wash. – Residents in the Union Hill area of Redmond, Washington are on alert after two trail cams were discovered hidden in front of homes.
On Feb. 1, David Springgay says his 11-year-old son found one trail camera in front of the bus stop where kids are picked up for school.
After none of his neighbors claimed the device, Springgay downloaded the images from the camera.
“You could see in the images that there was my teenage daughter. You saw my kids, my elementary aged kids come and be down there and wait for the bus,” said Springgay.
Springgay says he was also captured on this trail camera.
Weeks later and a few yards down, Springgay’s neighbor found another trail cam. MORE
Worry more about the ones you don’t see.
They’re everywhere.
… and yet people seem to be OK with cameras being on every traffic light… just sayin’
Sorry, I now have 14 24/7 security cameras ever since my @hole trouper wife claimed I was peeping in their windows. Dropped $500. on a lawyer I didn’t need because they never showed up in court when they found out I had trail cameras, at that time, that showed no one was in my yard or theirs. I think they got NYS to pick up the tab for their lawyer who did show up. Dropped. So much for cops who lie.
Bill Gates is a pornographer, and it is probably trying to view the neighbor’s bedroom windows…
Grainy or not, how about sharing the selfie the perv accidentally took? Someone might be able to ID him.
This is lowest level tech. I use them for my work and placing them like this is specifically intentional for the targets acquired. Small focus of area.
You’ve likely got a perv at work here. I say that since one was aimed at where kids will be. The other might be casing the property for future criminal activity.
So comparing it to public surveillance is off. At least they have “public safety” as a cover for placing them.
BTW – “trail camera” link was useless.
quote: “Once a crime is committed, then they can use it as reason to get the records from the company that manufactures the camera ,” said Springgay.
Only one type of cam could get them anywhere like that. I have used dozens of cams and the only ones that could help you like that would be the ones that send pics over a phone number using an integrated cell capability in the camera. Spypoint being one brand I’m familiar with. Those types would have user/owner info you can get.
Gosh. All I had to do is finish the article
Quote: “The camera is connected to the cellular network,” said Springgay. “All those images were being potentially uploaded to whoever placed the camera there.”
So they are that type.
We had a rental condo in one of the areas in Redmond that has seen a huge uptick in break ins. I still am a member in their Next Door and FB pages. These cameras are being found there too. Last night there were several break in attempts that were stopped by home security cameras. The burglars were speaking Spanish…
