Is Europe threatened or not?
American Conservative: For months, the United Kingdom has been leading the charge against Russia over Ukraine. When serving as foreign secretary, Liz Truss, recently ousted as prime minister, hired a Beatles tribute band to lobby Secretary of State Antony Blinken to take a tougher stand toward Moscow. Then-Prime Minister Boris Johnson even more ostentatiously played uber-hawk when visiting Ukraine, mimicking Winston Churchill, about whom Johnson wrote a biography. London’s message appeared to be “Follow Me!”
Alas, it was all for show. Johnson called on NATO allies to “dig deep” on defense, but refused to hike British military outlays. He promised to do so in the future, but the value of his promises was always heavily discounted. As Johnson’s chancellor of the exchequer, Rishi Sunak refused to endorse increasing military outlays to 3 percent of GDP. Under short-lived Prime Minister Truss, reported the Times, Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt was “considering keeping defense spending at about 2 per cent until 2026-27, but committing to increasing it significantly to hit the target of 3 per cent by 2030.” more
The Yurps need to start paying their “fair share”.
You can’t expect to collect bribes from the defense contractors if you don’t keep buying their products! And you can’t keep buying their products unless you “dispose” of the stuff you already bought! This is bribery 101, for heaven’s sake.
My former school friends in Europe say Thank You America for footing the bill for the war in their backyard.
They, after all, have those great trains, beautiful roads & bridges and all those historical sites they must all maintain you know.
This is NOT “military welfare” for the EuroTrash – this is GRAFT and CORRUPTION for American politicians.
The Treasury is being plundered – PERIOD – and it ain’t being plundered by Europeans.
If we had an extant FBI/DOJ these maggot politicians would be in the process of being frog-marched to the gibbet – but, alas, our vaunted FBI/DOJ are stooges and lackeys of the corrupt politicians – a veritable GESTAPO under Wray and Garland – being handsomely rewarded for their Treasons.
It will only end when We, the People of the United States, end it.
