This bugs me. I played 5 whole games of rugby in college. I only played 5 because I got FLATTENED.
The idea that a coach who should know waaaaaaay better let this guy on the field disturbs me.
I can still remember getting the breath squeezed out of me and panicking thinking my ribs were broke. Those skirts must have got it rough. ROUGH.
Until women boycott every women’s sport that allows men to compete, this will continue.
Cheryl is right, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the male-infested team just takes the forfeit win and is happy about it.
The team he’s on has to boycott playing with him, then the coach has a choice to make. Forfeit every season or kick him off the team. But it has to be every team that has one of it on the team.
The girls can go elsewhere and play when it comes down to it. Then lesser athletes that are desperate will fill that void and the team will be a perennial loser after that.
If one team makes a stand, it will inspire others and lead the way to end this farce.
I noticed the coach of Lia’s team was as butch as you can get. Many a girl’s team coaches just want to be around young women and don’t really care about them otherwise. I think she’s one of them.
