‘We won’t be coming’: Washington state police reform goes into effect, law enforcement warns of consequences

PM: Washington state legislators passed a series of new police reform bills that went into effect on Sunday, the most noteworthy being HB 1310 where law enforcement officers can only make arrests on the grounds of “probable cause” instead of “reasonable suspicion,” giving a green light for criminals to commit crimes without being held accountable.

Signed into law by Democratic Governor Jay Inslee without a vote from the people through ballot measures, HB 1310 also called the “use of force bill” drastically limits the way police officers respond to calls.

“It’s going to change the level of service we give to our citizens. Not because we want to, but because we have to,” Moses Lake Police Chief Fuhr said, according to Columbia Basin Herald.

“This is changing completely the way we’ve responded to some of these calls … and there will be some calls that we just absolutely don’t respond to from here on out,” Fuhr added. more

  1. I used to be proud to say I was born and raised in Washington state.

Anymore, I am proud to say I haven’t lived in Washington state for years and have absolutely nothing to do with their horseshit politics.

    How times have changed.

  2. You reap what you sow.
Unfortunately many good people will be paying the high price for the State’s progressive/socialist/democrat anti-police/social justice agenda.
Flee the shithole democrat controlled cities as quickly as you can before they become killing fields.

  3. There has been ample opportunity to arm yourself. The signs first appeared when Barky O’Fraudo took residence in the White Hut. ‘Fast & Furious’, arming the IRS, talk of paramilitary groups aimed at us ….

If you still don’t have the means to protect yourself, from criminals, from fascists, from crazies, you carry a cinder block where you head should be.

Washington & CA tags are legion on the interstates through WY, NE, CO. Lots of people squirming, relocating. Real Estate and Banking predators are taking full advantage.

  4. The intro to the article is a bit misleading, probable cause has always been the standard for making an arrest. Reasonable suspicion is the standard for being able to detain someone for investigative purposes. Raising that to PC does, however, mean officers won’t be able to detain someone as the article does go on to say.

Fear of discipline or lawsuits will almost certainly mean officers simply won’t stop people very often. They will basically have to see a person commit a crime in order to do so. A rise in vigilantism coming soon?

  5. Democrats – reversing civilization for a hundred years.

I wonder what the pioneers and law-bringers would think to see the beneficiaries of their monumental struggles throwing it all away to eagerly revert to barbarism.

  6. Please, violent psychopaths. Go after the white democrat karens first. Beat the shit out of them and rob them while they try to tell you they’re not Trump supporters; so you shouldn’t hurt them. Then find all the old hippie democrat assholes, punch them in the faces and steal all their stuff too.

  7. Call me stupid, but I don’t really see the difference between reasonable suspicion and probable cause. Seems both are a bit subjective. Maybe they should combine the two and claim probable suspicion?
