Welcome to Just Rhode Island

Because of Slavery Connotations, Rhode Island May Change Its Official Name.

Dan Bongino.com: On Monday, Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo signed Executive Order 20-48, changing the official name of the state from “The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations” to just “Rhode Island.”

This will include changing the name in official communications from the governor’s office and calls on all state executive agencies to remove “plantations” from their websites, according to the New York Post. keep reading

  1. …so glad to hear The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations has solved all their OTHER problems so they can focus on important stuff like THIS…/s

…funny thing is, that I never KNEW its “formal” name WAS “The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations” before they got good and stupid about this. I suspect most other people NOT from The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations are in the same boat.

    Now, we ALL do.

…guess they never heard of The Streisand Effect, huh?

    …so, say it with me!

THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND AND PROVIDENCE PLANTATIONS!!!

    …ask for it by name…

  2. All they had to do is change Plantations to Plantains, a banana type of thing. We could then call RI the Banana State, or the State Gone Bananas, or the Banana Republic of the North.

  3. I have a paper map of the County of Rhode Island, actual size.

    Really?

You people still consider yourselves to be a state?
You’re a speck in relation to the country.

Disappear up a Masshole or Connecticunt.
    I know.
Shame on me. But seriously, Rhode Island, we simply don’t care about what you call yourselves, what genders you select for yourselves, your favorite flavor of ice cream.

Honestly. Just leave us out of your journey of self discovery.

Sure. Designing a flag with 49 stars is mathematically difficult. We’ll figure it out.

  4. I have lived in many areas of this country.
No place I have lived have freely thrown around the N word than the liberal northeast.

I have worked temporarily in ole south Mississippi.

I never heard it in California or Nevada. I didn’t hear in Virginia. I heard it in Massachusetts. And Rhode Island.

…you’ve got something there, PH, if they can take being a planet away from Pluto, SURELY we can take statehood away from (deep breath, then loudly,) THE STATE OF RHODE ISLAND AND PROVIDENCE PLANTATIONS…

You drive diagonally thru the state and it still only takes an hour. They have two senators? and two congresscritters based on population.

Sorry. Your state card needs to be revoked.
Two senators that suck, just by the way.

  7. This name change failed the last time it was put to the voters in 2010 by almost 78 percent of the mostly White Colored Voters. Wouldn’t it be simply too precious if it failed again after all this nonsense? After all, there must be lots of voters in this itsy bitsy former plantation who are getting tired of all this Unconscious Racism BS.

  8. The nice thing about Rhode Island being so small, is that all the Karens can see one… well… actually… so, so many more than one… of their own… uh… something something en-ing up the place.

  9. My niece married a former Rhode Islander. They live in Colorado. His parents live in Sun Valley Idaho for 10 months of the year….all are liberal snot monkeys spreading their virus…..They wouldn’t have left unless the nest is soiled….the other 5 chillun’s are spreading out too….

  10. Sorry – I don’t understand what the whining is all about.
    Where’s the “racism” … at …?

Must be the systemic “racism” that makes it so obscure that it doesn’t exist – except in the muddled minds of the totalitarians posing as racist demagogues.

    izlamo delenda est …

You’re not flagellating yourself enough. A mere statistic from the mid 1700’s is not nearly enough. I suggest you buy, or make, a cat-o-nine-tails and whip yourself on the back with it till your skin is shredded and you bleed profusely.

You may need several months of daily whippings to completely eradicate your white guilt.

    Have fun!

  12. Virtue signaling can get pretty expensive for the citizens of this state – which is why it has failed in the past, I imagine.
Changing all of the stationary for every government office throughout the entire bureaucracy will be an exorbitant.

Democrats – failures of fiscal responsibility.

    Maybe I misinterpreted your point.

I thought you were calling those of us who oppose the re-naming of RI “jerkoffs”. It seems perhaps you are calling the RI government “jerkoffs”. If that is the case I apologize for my post.

It was satire directed at liberals who would support such a thing.

  14. Black the whites of my eyes! Those suns a bitches ain’t an island at all!

Plus…my county is bigger than their entire state.

You could kidnap the entire state, hide it Texas and no one would ever find it.
