What’s In a Name? – IOTW Report

What’s In a Name?

There’s a website that lets you look up a first name and see which party affiliation most people with that name register under.

Daily Caller tried Adolf, Fidel, Vladimir and came up with some interesting results.  I tried Stalin and found it to be mostly used by Democrats.

  1. What party do Shaniqua and Lashawn be?

    I have an extremely non-standard first name. In my entire life I can’t recall encountering more than a few others with the same name.

    And guess what, peeps? I be registered as an independent voter.

  2. I typed in “Niger” “Shaniqua,” “Jose,” all 80%+ commie. Most old and new testament names were just slightly (3-4% margin) more Repube than Commiecrat.

    The database is racist.

  3. I did my first name with these results:

    261,684 registered voters = 192nd most common name

    Republican = 54.2%
    Democrat = 45.8%
    Have a gun in the house = 49.1%
    Attend church services weekly = 60.7%
    Have a college degree = 48.8%

    Now I did it with my last name which did produce these results:

    54 registered voters = 67,286nd most common name

    Republican = 39.7%
    Democrat = 60.3%
    Have a gun in the house = 50.0%
    Attend church services weekly = 44.6%
    Have a college degree = 49.4%

    I tried it with other people’s last names that I know with no results on that side.

    I tried it with a number of other first names, showing the Dems with a larger percentage in “Party Affiliation”, but also with many of them over 50% having guns in the house. Looks like we have a lot of “Obama Sons & Daughters”, that are also “Gang Members” registered to vote.

  4. Ok, so let me get this straight.

    “Fifty-five point five percent of the 1,559 registered voters named ‘Adolf’ are Democrats, compared to 48.5 percent who are Republicans.”

    My non-commie core math education tells me that 55.5 + 48.5 = 104. The extra 4% must be dead voters correct? I was sure it was a lot higher than 4% of the dead that voted democRAT, but I could be wrong.

  5. I call bullshit. “Shaniqua” and “Lashawn” are over 80% Democrat with 44% and 49% having college degrees? Give me a break. “Clovis” and “Clyde” 45% College degrees and majority Democrat? More bullshit. Look up “Cletus” and “Bocephus”. That should be enough to convince anyone.

  6. Well, I put in my screen name (what, you thought that was my real name?) and it came up majority Republican as did my real name.

    Both names are over 50% likely to have a gun in the house (only one?).

    Got some bad news for Mr BigFurHat. While Fur was not in the data base, Big and Hat were and they are most likely to be………Democrats. Oh the shame.

    Don’t laugh too hard Mr Pinko, if that’s your real name (Pinky Pinko?). Pink is in the data base and is overwhelmingly Democrat.

    Well, at least 52% of the people named Pinky have guns in their houses.

  7. My entire family is extremely conservative except for one rogue sister-in-law. We are very Southern and have very traditional names.

    My rogue sister-in-law came up Republican. The rest of us came up Democrat.

    More Orwellian garbage?

  8. Whew–I barely made it, at 50.5% Repub.

    But either the site cheats on the blue side or there are a lot of elderly classical libs left:

    Edith, 58.4% Dumpocrap
    Gertrude, 60.1% Dump
    Agnes, 58.9% Dump
    Agatha, 64.5% Dump

    Calvin, 63.2% Dump
    Stanley, 51.9% Dump
    Clarence, 60.1% Dump
    Sheldon, 59.5% Dump

    Beyonce (42 of ’em) is only 77.2% Dumpocrap (49% likely to have a gun), though, so there’s hope. Keyshawn is 87.5% Dump, Lashawn 88.6%.

  9. I laughed out loud when my Moms name was ten percent higher to have a gun in the house than mine.

    Then the “Oh, yeah” moment came once I reminded myself how gay my first name is.

  10. Remember, friends, that your name was in almost all cases your parents’ choice, not yours. So – go back one generation and compare.

    If my folks had named me Karl Marx Jones, though, you could be sure I changed it long, long ago!
