White House Looking At Stripping Brennan, Comey, Clapper, Hayden, Rice, McCabe Of Security Clearances

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders doubled down on congressional calls for former CIA Director John Brennan to lose his security.

Sanders was asked Monday during the press briefing if the president will “call for the removal of former director Brennan’s security clearance.”

Sanders said not only is the White House looking at stripping Brennan’s security clearance, they are looking at stripping the clearances of a wide range of officials.

“Not only is the president looking to take away Brennan’s security clearance, he is also looking into the clearances of Comey, Clapper, Hayden, Rice and McCabe,” Sanders said, “The president is exploring the mechanisms to remove security clearance because they politicized and in some cases monetized their public service and security clearances.”

“Making baseless accusations of improper contact with Russia or being influenced by Russia against the president is extremely inappropriate,” Sanders continued. “And the fact that people with security clearances are making these baseless charges provides inappropriate legitimacy to accusations with zero evidence.”

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul tweeted Monday morning that he would be asking Trump to revoke Brennan’s clearance.   MORE

  3. How in the hell do they still have security clearances of any kind. The only thing they should have from the government is an orange or striped jump suit, 3 hots and a cot in an 8X8 foot box.

  4. Security, specifically reducing security risks would seem to require that any and all individuals who are not active in a job that requires clearance have this revoked.

    I would guess 98% of Americans didn’t know that former employees kept their security clearance.

    Maybe there is a reason for it but until I hear it get them out of those circles.

  6. A complete review of all “former” government official’s clearance should be standard operating procedure for any new administration.
    Luckily the non-partisan, professional and honorable FBI conducts those reviews. spit ! Will sedition be cause for security clearance removal?

  8. One would think security clearances are automatically revoked upon separation of employment.

  9. I just assumed when one in a position with that clearance would loose it when their employment was terminated by retirement, resignation, firing, etc. But, when you assume . . .

When working on missiles in Germany during the cold war the officers had top secret security clearances just like the enlisted men but did not have access to the top secret manuals on their operation and repair – no need to know that. Prior administration people have absolutely no need to know and thus should be refused access to anything

    Do you recall the Fox News report, which aired just once, about tweets supposedly from Strzok, and revealed in the Page deposition, about White House, prior admin, hands on direction of all things -gate? It died the same day. Gateway Pundit carried ir, along with Fox. This appears to be another trap. Fake news and fake tweets. This time Fox as recipient. Question is who leaked the fake tweets.

  20. When I left my job in Minnesota to move home, I had to turn in my entry ID badge, the keys to my office and any paperwork related to my job.

    Why doesn’t the government do a better job of releasing their employees? I can’t believe there are not proper channels to go through. I think someone conveniently “forgot”.

    “Tell the news morons that you think I ought to pull Brennan’s security clearance, and then come over to the WH for a publicity photo op.”
    “So, finally now’s the time? Great to hear it! I’ll get right on it.”

  25. worked over 35 years for one of the largest utility company’s in the US (over 140 pumping stations, over 50 towers & standpipes, 3 reservoirs & dams, 10 treatment plants, 7 depots & headquarters)
    … the day you retire (or separate) is the day you lose all access to each & every facility … kinda simple

  27. IMHO, I think that a 12 Station Gallows should be authorized and built by Presidential Order. Immediately, with most haste, and extreme prejudice, upon the National Mall. Facing the Capital Bldg.. In plain site from the Front Door. So that all can see it without hinderance. Station a heavily armed Platoon of US Marines all around the gallows 24/7/365. Have it well lighted, like the other National Monuments on that Stately and Sacred site. Allow the public to walk around it, to take photos, to admire it’s stature, contemplate it’s sole purpose, and recognize it’s necessity in these troubled times. Keep the Socialist Democrat/Fascist protesters, and Liberal Narre-do-wells, SJWs and other Progressive Riff-Raff outside of the USMC established perimeter. Let this Emblem of Freedom and Liberty stand there silently waiting for the TREASON trials to end. Let the sturdy beams, bolts, and boards shining in the sun be a constant reminder to the guilty parties of just what happens to TRAITORS of this GREAT NATION. Let it stand as a reminder of who we the defenders of this land can become when pushed to the friggin limit of our collective patience.

  28. This is great news. Please do it. Launch the Democrats and their Media/PR Firms into another wave of frenzy that they think will energize their base. Draw more attention to them and their insanity while more people #walkaway.

    As others have noted, the same applies to me: When I leave an assignment, I turn in all equipment, the security badge, and I am escorted to the door. I no longer have any access to anything, I do not speak on behalf of the client at that point.

  30. When I quit me job, I don’t have to turn in my keys. Heck, I can just wander in and use the copy machine to make lost cat posters. If I ever decide to retire, I even get to keep my parking stall. And there’s nothing better than enterprise grade internet porn. How can we deny public servants such simple professional courtesy?
