In a recent interview on Face the Nation, Graham confirmed what many have suspected about the real motivation behind the U.S.’s strong support for Ukraine: it’s not the lofty principle of freedom, but rather a significant economic interest in Ukraine’s enormous mineral resources, estimated to be worth $10 to $12 trillion.

I don’t buy that at all.
Any country that has resources can sell them on the world market to the highest bidder. I recall the war at least started as a border dispute that Russia launched because a sizeable number of Russians in eastern Ukraine did not want to be part of Ukraine any longer. I have never heard that Ukraine had that kind of mineral wealth.
But I will conclude that Grahame is at least not interested in Uke females.
SIMPLE= They were all {congress & senate} making
dirty criminal treasonous $$$ deals and now
they are being blackmailed.
What an SOB! Ukraine is the most corrupt country in Eastern Europe, it’s not a democracy, and more than likely Russia is going to take it, or at least the Eastern part. Russia can barely extract its own resources. It will have a lot of problems doing that in Ukraine. Plus, remember how the left kept saying we went into Iraq for its oil?? Sound familiar??
The true objective is to completely vaporize all evidence of what was happening in the bioweapons labs before Russia gets to them.
Who would put them right next door to your greatest adversary?
Morons and traitors.
@Tim Buktu:
Unfortunately not true. Not you’re the country with the resources and you’re a captive satellite of a larger and more powerful country who “makes you an offer you can’t refuse.” It doesn’t even have to be military force threat. Once you’re in debt to the big guy he’s got you over a barrel.
Nah. It’s their biggest profit center and laundromat.
Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union for 70 years; why weren’t those trillions in resources extracted then?
@Uncle Al
I believe you. I was thinking about more independent countries like Canada and Australia, who both sell their wheat and minerals to purchasers in other countries. But maybe that’s not true of Ukraine. Maybe Ukraine does not have enough independence to do that.
So who is exerting control over it? I don’t think Russia controls Ukraine. If it did, it would not have had any reason to invade it. So that leaves western Europe, the United States, or some other entity to maintain control.
The most likely scenario is that both European and US interests control Ukraine and the whole game is to keep Russia out. Maybe Ukraine serves as a money laundering country, as others have mentioned.
Ukraine is no reason to start WWIII.
Bull Shit. Afghanistan was much richer in minerals and we crawled away from that. Gave it all to the Chinese. AND gave up arguably the most strategic military base we has to the Russians. Complete with our weapons. Who wrote this? Who believes this idiot? He’s still not telling them the truth. That’s not their motive.
Ukraine has got some mineral resources all right.
Here is a breakdown.
What Are The Major Natural Resources Of Ukraine? – WorldAtlas
the country has approximately 5% of the world’s mineral resources.
Ukraine has the world’s 7th largest and Europe’s 2nd largest coal reserve at about 34 billion tons.
Ukraine was estimated to hold over 1.1 trillion cubic meters of natural gas reserves in 2004, ranking it 26th among the countries with proven gas reserves before Crimea was annexed. It is also estimated to hold over 135 million tons of oil and 3.7 billion tons of shale oil reserves.
Ukraine alone has an estimated 27 billion tons of iron ore reserves and ranks 6th in global iron ore production.
Ukraine is in the top ten producers of manganese ore in the world and has the largest manganese ore reserve in Europe.
Ukraine holds the largest titanium reserve in Europe.
The country also has the largest uranium deposit in Europe and accounts for 1.8% of the world’s uranium deposit.
Ukraine has 300 deposits of graphite, containing more than 1 billion tons or 20% of the world’s graphite.
Other major resources include mercury (2% of the world, 30,000 tons, ranking it 5th after Spain, China, Algeria, and Kyrgyzstan), potash salt, gold, building material, ornamental stones, and hydropower resources.
5% of the world’s known mineral wealth, enough to give Grahame fantasies about it.
And Afghanistan makes them look like a joke. Lithium. Hmm, why would we need that. Well the Chinese have it now. The same assholes that are trying to kill our auto industry with cars we don’t have enough power to charge.

These delusional pols think some magic is going to happen like that guy in a Berlin bunker did in April of 1945. Newsflash, Steiner is not going to be showing up this time either.
The US has every nature resource – but notice how the swamp prevents Americans from exploiting them.
A momentary lapse of reason – Graham was honest for a second or two and will regret it.
mortem tyrannis
izlamo delenda est …
These bastards lie so much how in the hell would you know when they ‘re telling the truth?
Bull Sh!t It is because of the massive money laundering that is going on.
Speed Queen.
Lindsey has been in a funk ever since he lost the patch kit for his inflatable friend.
