Will Trump throw out ObamaLunch?

Will Trump throw out Michelle O’s lunch rules?

EAG: WASHINGTON, D.C. – A Trump administration focused on cutting unnecessary regulations is expected to ignite fresh debate about Michelle Obama’s healthy school food restrictions, and could give new momentum to Republican efforts to roll them back.

Students and schools across the country have struggled to comply with tightened restrictions on calories, fat, sugar, sodium, and other nutritional elements imposed by the federal government through the first lady’s Healthy and Hunger-Free Kids Act.

Hundreds of schools fled the National School Lunch Program after the regulations went into effect in 2012, largely because lost lunch room revenue exceeded federal subsidies for the program. Students rejected the changes and revolted, snapping pictures of their horrid lunches and posting them online with the hashtag #ThanksMichelleObama.  more here

  1. First thing, cut off the tax payer subsidy.

I might be mixed up on this but I don’t think it was a law passed by Congress/ and funded by the House of Representatives, it was either an unconstitutional regulation spending taxpayer dollars or an unconstitutional executive order spending tax payer dollars.

Either way, kill it with fire.

  2. Bring back the women who know how to cook a hot meal!! That’s what I had as a kid. We big kids got ‘thirds’ if there was food left! Those women were great and the food was excellent. It was $0.25.

  3. Is there any earthly reason why the Federal Gruberment ought to have any involvement whatsoever with school lunches? Do they have unique knowledge no one else has? Too much time on their hands after having solved all the problems we really do need a central government to handle, e.g. national defense and err, um, whatever?

  4. @cfm990: Not trying to be argumentative here. But what exactly could Trey Gowdy have done? I’m not very knowledgeable on the power a congressman has.”

Well it has been proven that a republican majority held House and Senate has little if any power.

  5. As Gowdy said many many times, Congress cannot indict anyone. Who can do that is the Attorney General and dept of justice. So if Gowdy is appointed AG, I will bet the farm indictments, special prosecutors, and trials will flow over Clinton, Lynch, Comey, Obama, and the rest of the cockroaches.

  6. I hope Trump does away with it. The Federal Government has no business in school lunches. Strictly a local issue. Although when/if he does we will be inundated with horror stories of starving children who have no lunch because of the evil Trump.

While he’s at it, I hope he bulldozes the Wookie’s garden as well.

  7. @Charlie WalksonWater: Remember – it was Trey Gowdy’s Benghazi Committee that uncovered Clinton’s use of a private email server while Secretary of State. If not for that, Hillary might be President-elect today. I wouldn’t exactly call that not accomplishing much.

  8. One of the hallmarks of the stupidity that marked the Obama administration was witnesses asshat blue cities like Seattle, Portland, SF, etc. passing “foreign policy” statements by their city councils while that same council allowed some bureaucrat in DC to decide what the school lunch menu should be. Local government exists to take care of local issues, and schools should absolutely be a local issue. US foreign policy absolutely should not be.

  9. If the un-elected first lady can impose her will on the nation (how da f**k does that work?), Melania can insist women stop being ugly.

We’ll work out the details later. Deportation? Dungeons? Only one get-out-of-jail-free card – embrace and accept conservatism.

  10. Yes, if we wan to capture the minds of the next generation we need to unbrainwash them from the liberal policies of the last fifty years. At lunch give them:

    Trump pizza
    Trump chesseburgers
    Trump fries
    etc
and wash it down with Trumpacola (extra sweet)

  11. I went to four different elementary schools (Navy family). At three of them, I walked home for lunch, then walked back to school. At the fourth, I rode my bike home and back. And we were not in military housing, but in our own normal homes off base same as normal people. Most kids did the same. There was no question of what kind of lunch the schools served, the schools had no cafeterias. And there was no question of who would provide lunch at home, our homes had our mothers there because taxes and the cost of living hadn’t risen to the point where families needed two incomes to get by.

And this was only 50-60 years ago. (-:

  12. Sasquatch think everybody wants their forage leftovers. Not true. Trump should deep six Mooch the Sassie’s lunch mandate the first day he’s in office. Right after Melania orders Mooch’s “garden” be bulldozed. Might as well. No one in the Trump administration should be attending that mockery. Let it go to weeds.
