Utah Passes Bill Banning Mandatory Masks in Public Schools and Universities

GP-

The Utah legislature passed a measure on Wednesday prohibiting public schools and universities from requiring masks in the next school year.

Earlier this year, 30-40 parents in their Granite School District got so heated during a board meeting that police were called on them.

The Associated Press reports that bill sponsor Rep. Val Peterson said “county officials would still be able to invoke mask orders in consultation with local health officials in schools that have coronavirus outbreaks. The legislation only applies to COVID-19 and would not prevent people from wearing face coverings.”

“At some point this has to end,” Peterson said. “What this bill is really about is making sure we have those assurances to our students that they can go forward next fall and get right into the school year without the thought of masks and what that might mean.” more here

  1. “At some point this has to end,”

    …well, everything does.

It just sometimes takes a long time and a lot of bloodshed or an actual Act of God to get there.

    Nazi Germany – 7 years.
Civil War (open war part) – 5 years
    Babylonian Captivity – 69 years
Hundred Years War – actually 116 years. No one who started it lived to anything close to the end, but the next generation kept it going.
Egyptian Captivity – 400 years, give or take 30.
Arab/Israeli conflict – 421 years so far, still going on.

…so don’t count on being able to run out the clock. Tyrants can tyrannize the time, too…

  2. Legislature passed?
I guess that would mean it still has to get past the republican governor. smh

Remember Pence screwing us on the bathroom bill in indiana?
Remember the republican governor of Az who vetoed bill passed by legislature requring obama to show his birth papers if he ran again?
And then of course there are all the governors who didn’t do shart at the last election.
