Recognizing health concerns in wind energy development a key recommendation in new study
As wind energy development blossoms in Canada and around the world, opposition at the community level is challenging the viability of the industry. A new study with research from the University of Waterloo, published in Nature Energy, identifies four major factors leading to disputes over wind farms, and offers recommendations on avoiding disagreements.
The research project focuses on the province of Ontario. It lists socially mediated health concerns, distribution of financial benefits, lack of meaningful engagement and failure to treat landscape concerns seriously, as the core stumbling blocks to a community’s acceptance of wind energy development. more

Wind Farms are detestable on every level — they are UGLY, they kill thousands of birds, the noise is deafening and they have to wait for the winds to blow for them to generate any energy.
Hope that they disappear very soon…

What Libtards do not understand, is that the energy created by wind is not just free energy. A lot of energy goes into making the tower to collect energy
Like some arsehole in a prius who croaked about how much energy his car saved.
The damage done to the environment making the battery, and all that plastic, plus the energy output to manufacture, far outweighs the savings of fossil fuel use.
These energy sources will become viable only as the material science progresses enough to mitigate manufacture energy output.

The greens also don’t tell you about the FACT that wind turbines dissipate and eventually STOP all wind. There’s only so much wind available folks, and the effect on the global environment caused by the elimination of wind is CATASTROPHIC. Think of the children!
THE SCIENCE IS SETTLED. Anthropomorphic wind consumption must be addressed yesterday. The only thing that can fix it is a wind credit system that will redistribute wealth from rich windy areas to poor people located in stagnant air areas.

It’s a scam. If not for the subsidies, they wouldn’t exist.
On top of that, some(most) power companies are required to use X% of “sustainable” energy. They don’t care if they have to increase prices because they have a guaranteed ROI.
Wind change deniers should all be arrested!
So… when is the Endangered Species Act going to shut these things down? They kill untold numbers of migratory birds and protected raptors.

Starting with that useless windfarm just north of Lafayette off I-65.
Half the time I drive through there they aren’t even moving, even when the wind is blowing!
I have a buddy out in the wilds of Idaho, he paid a Yuge amount of money to connect to the grid.
In an e-mail, I asked him if he had looked at wind and solar.
Being the intelligent engineer, he sent me a ton of stuff, and a one word message.
“Yes”.
Hell no, I didn’t read it all, I trust him.

This obvious fact that “natural” wind patterns are directly altered is completely ignored by the people that think we’re responsible for warming the earth.
They are NOT the party of science. Unless there is a special branch of study called Liar’s Science.
As far as dependable electrical output and usage for the long term, hydro seems as close as we get.
