Daily Caller: A woman from Metro Atlanta was surprised to find a charge of $7,112.98 on her credit card for a Subway sandwich, WSB TV reported Monday.
Vera Conner, a regular Subway customer, typically pays $7.50 for her usual order. However, she was shocked when her weekly credit card statement review revealed the charge for her favorite Italian sub, per WSB TV. MORE
B of A sucks! Even though we have a familial tie to the founder APG, I don’t know of anyone in our family that has done any business with those pigs for close to 50 years!
This is a classic example of how/why common sense no longer exists.
It’s a gross mistake, (even if she was drunk at the time), and fighting her for a refund is monumentally fucky.
Subway barely deserves ANY kind of tip. Except the tip of my middle finger.
NOBODY tips like that, except for a democrat politician, using tax-payer money and hoping for another vote.
Call me old fashion but when it comes to purchases like this or maybe a small item at a gas station, I’m using cash. I’m not going to trust my bank account to some snot nosed kid with pink hair.
Maybe Women’s Rights ACTIVIST Megan Rapinoe will help!
Nah!
Who am I kidding…
I’ve had to chargeback items on my CC before due to fraud or not receiving an item I was sold. They immediately refund my money and then run an investigation and if that investigation turns up some evidence that it shouldn’t be charged back, then I assume they reverse the reverse. Never had a problem. This is why I always use a credit card though, and never a debit card.
In fact, I’ve never heard of someone not being able to reverse a charge, so maybe it’s a recent change in policy. Usually you see small businesses bitching that someone came to their store, bought something, then called the CC company to reverse the charge and now the business is out the item and the money. Then the business spends months going round and round trying to get their money back.
Bank of America is about to go tits-up anyways.
Did you all know that for every $1 dollar that Silver goes up BofA loses 800 million?
BUY SILVER.
ecp,
I have noticed that CREDIT CARD companies & BANKS treat you VERY differently from one another based on CREDIT RATING & Balance in accounts.
Trust me, they are PIGS!
Remember when you were a kid and used cash for purchases, yeah i do.
It’s gotta be over $300 before i use a card.
I do all my banking with a credit union and have done so for over 40 years. My first mortgage back in the late 70’s was with Seafirst (now Bank of America) who sold it to Wells Fargo. I was never satisfied with either and quit doing any business with banks in the early 80’s and have a been a credit union member ever since. I’ve never had a problem with my credit union, in fact they helped me to refinance my house at a lower rate and lower house payment, the banks would’ve screwed me over. I also no longer have any credit card debt which is a tremendous blessing.
Discover has been absolutely fantastic in that regard. Contact them, upload files supporting your case, if need be. Boom, the shyster is in the position of having to defend their case if they want to be paid.
Only needed that three times in about thirty years with them and they were outrageously efficient.
I think it’s been over 20 years since I went to a Subway. The last time I was in one the girl behind the counter had a nose piercing with a nasty infection. I just turned around and walked out and haven’t been to one since. Their food sucks just like Dominoes Pizza.
There is more to this story, I suspect. My guess would be that the transaction was flagged as suspicious, and that is why the delays and obfuscation.
I was recently contacted by Chase over a bogus 51 cent charge from DoorDash. 51 cents.
B.O.A. cost us the sale of a house in PA via a Texas branch almost twenty years ago. We had moved to Texas and were selling a house in PA. We needed to make some kind of deposit of around $6,000.00… it was years ago and I forget all the details. This was on a Friday. Monday we get a call from the realtor wanting to know where the deposit was. I called the bank and they calmly informed me that although the transfer of funds… From MY account mind you… was approved by an assistant manager on Friday morning, on Friday afternoon the affirmative action branch manager cancelled the transfer without so much as a word to us. I was so livid and one of the bimbos at the bank threatened to call the police if I didn’t calm down. I closed my account that morning and never looked back.
She musta ordered that 15 inch foot-long.
Probably because they hand slice the deli meat now.
I thought theft was against the law in all states.
Ghost, that’s a 1 and a quarter foot long. Do they charge extra for the extra 3 inches? The only reason I go to Subway anymore is because I use the coupons to get a footlong for $6.99.
