Why not. Pilots put pictures of their girl in the cockpit. They knew what they were fighting for.

I hadn’t heard of this, nor noticed the prop in “Fury”. It was a good movie in most respects except the cast was mostly way too old and the final battle scenario needlessly over the top and unbelievable.
I granddad has one of those on the handle for his knife! He was flying planes over the beaches on D-Day and everything. Had some very tough stories to tell… (pretty sure it was a picture of his mom, he was only 17 when he joined the army.) I’d ask him but he died five years ago. So… 🙁
