I had an employer who wouldn’t give me a day off to get married, told me I would be fired if I took it off. So I took the day and got married, the next day they called and asked why I wasn’t at work. I told them and they asked me if I could come in and work anyway. Once the employer lets you know your value for better or worse, act on it appropriately.
