Zahi Hawass calls on Egypt to make its own English-language movie to combat Netflix’s ‘Queen Cleopatra’

Egyptologist and former Minister of Antiquities, Zahi Hawass, called on the Egyptian United Media Services company to produce its own film to combat Western lies about Queen Cleopatra VII, the last Ptolemaic ruler of Egypt.

In a Sunday telephone conversation with Mohamed al-Baz on Al-Nahar satellite channel, Hawass stressed that this new Cleopatra biography by Egypt must be shown to the whole world in English, and air on international channels such as the Discovery Channel.

Hawass noted that a 15-year-old high school student published a film he made on social media about Queen Cleopatra, in response to the Netflix movie where Cleopatra was depicted as black.

He added the film will be published on May 10 on YouTube. MORE

  6. I remember being confused in the 80’s when Lou Gossett Jr. was cast as Anwar Sadat. Up until then, most movie Egyptians were olive skinned with more caucasian facial features.

  12. Yes, Egypt should defend the accurate history of their ethnic culture. Although, during later timelines in Egyptian history, black Africans did mix with Egyptians.
    Ever notice NBC journalist Hoda Kotb hair? Check out her hairline. She’s Egyptian. She “straightens” her hair which mostly is naturally in the form of tight, napped afro curls like most black people’s hair. There had to be a black African in her family tree. Just sayin.

    Hollywierd is the worst at accurately depicting historical figures and facts. Right now Hollywierd is on a “Woke” crusade to make every historical figure black. A Marxist tactic to rewrite history to promote their agenda of “equity” – by their definition. Which really means the inequalities the left fight against do not actually exist. Just an attempt to control the narrative, create resentment to divide and conquer.
