Are We Getting Closer To A Revolution?

Democrat political pundit Pat Caddell thinks so.

Veteran pollster Pat Caddell says he agrees with the premise that America today is closer to another revolution than at any time in recent history, adding, “The strength of this country comes from its people and it has a political system that is run, now, to the exclusion of its people … you have three quarters of the American people saying the government in Washington does not rule with the consent of the governed.”

  1. If anything will kick off the rebellion (a term I prefer over “revolution”), the violence will start when govt attempts to use force to confiscate firearms from otherwise law-abiding people. When that happens, things will get bloody.

  2. And as for consent, here’s a letter I sent out in 2007. It is far more applicable today. I was sure it would put me on all kinds of lists, but I’ve had no repercussions.

    To: George W. Bush, President
Robert Byrd, President Pro Tempore, U. S. Senate
Nancy Pelosi, Speaker, U. S. House of Representatives
John Roberts, Chief Justice, U. S. Supreme Court

Thomas Jefferson got it exactly right when he wrote “…to secure [our unalienable] rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the consent of the governed…” I regard that as the foundation of our society of free people in America.

All of you clearly do not. If you even understand what he meant, and what I mean, then you just might understand the full implications and import of what I now say to you:

I withdraw my consent. You have no just powers derived from me. You have no mandate from me. You no longer have my permission to act on my behalf in any manner or matter whatsoever.

You have all betrayed the ideal of free people forming governments to protect their rights. Your government has become “destructive of these ends.” I am, with deep regret and sense of foreboding, pondering that “it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it” and what that might mean for us all in days to come.

    Sincerely,
    [my real name and signature]

  3. I don’t think it will come to a revolt unless Yeb “wins” the nomination The path to the White Hut goes through Florida and Ohio.

OTOH, you guys are right, but they will never come for your guns, ever again. Sure, house to house gun confiscation worked in New Orleans after the hurricane, but that was then.
