All classes on campus have been cancelled for the immediate future at Western Washington University because someone posted “hate speech” on social media yesterday.
President Bruce Shepard sent out a message to students and staff today, saying that someone posted “hate speech” online “targeted at Western students of color.”
“I need to be VERY clear here,” he wrote, “we are not talking the merely insulting, rude, offensive commentary that trolls and various other lowlifes seem free to spew, willy nilly, although there has been plenty of that, too. No, this was hate speech.”
Thus, all classes have been cancelled.
President Shepard said he could not say what the messages said because “of an ongoing law enforcement investigation.”
The person who posted the hate speech may or may not be a student at Western Washington University. There is also “no threat to general campus safety.”
However, “as a campus, we will come together to demonstrate our outrage, to listen to each other, and to support each other. So, I have decided to cancel classes today in order to provide that time.”
President Shepard added, “Have no doubt: this is not a capitulation to those I described as trolls and lowlifes. We are going after them.”
Oh my Gawd Those WOU students are scarred for life.
The government should step and provide for each of them for the rest of their lives. Throw in 40 acres and a mule for these special snowflakes too. Pussified youth provided by academia.

I went to my usual site for semi normalish news out here in moss for brains land and read this:
“University spokesperson Paul Cocke told The Seattle Times that the threats were aimed at black students on campus. The threats came after student leaders called for the school’s viking mascot to be changed because it is racist.”
SO, since when are Vikings considered racist? Ragnor Lothbruk is a white guy, not black nor a native american. What’s the pretzel logic here?

From a purely business standpoint, how in the world do these universities think their seats will be full next year? Do they think students will flock to a school that does these things?

The Administrators are the folks that should be removed… when college students find out they can get their tests cancelled by posting a couple stupid messages, they’ll do it.

Precisely! Western should be shut down as an accredited “university”. The kids who go there are all stoners and are basically fit for no real jobs when they get out. This sort of thing is right up their alley. Surprised if someone doesn’t turn it into a degree program.
