The United States formally declared war on Germany and joined the Allies on April 6th, 1917. It wasn’t until June 26th that the first doughboys landed in France and only saw minor combat by that fall.

Most Korean and Vietnam Veterans were either forgotten or poorly received.

WW1 was the starter, WW11 gives the wrong impression. It was actually WW!, second act or round 2 if you prefer. Same players, different instruments.
