14-Year-Old Arrested For Destroying SEAL Memorial

Thursday, a stone plaque that honored fallen SEAL medal of honor recipient Michael Murphy was shattered by vandals on Long Island. A 14-year-old was arrested yesterday morning and is expected to be arraigned in Family Court later today for the crime. More

The kid should be given the choice of Marine Corp delayed entry program or rot in an adult facility for next six years. – Dr. Tar

  1. The kid and his family should have to ante up for the replacement cost. Make him meet Murphy’s parents, read the book, watch the film, AND write a 5000 word essay on what it must be like to love your friends and country so much you would lay down your life for them.

Then make him and his guardians/parents attend the rededication ceremony.

  2. Marcus Luttrel, the actual lone survivor of that mission, was very gracious toward the kid this morning on Fox &Friends, saying he’s just on the wrong path at 14 years old. He offered to take the kid in and put him to work on his ranch to help him get his head on straight.

That would probably do him a lot of good.

  3. Put the child through a week……..or two……of BUD/S training, with the DI yelling at him the same as he does every other student.
Oh, and the parents have to watch…….from a distance…….every day…..for the one or two weeks. And they can’t utter a peep the entire time.
That will either make or break the child.

  4. If you institutionalize him it will cost the tax payers and he’ll come out even worse than when he went in. Sentence him to join the Marines or Army and try and make a MARSOC or Ranger out of him. I haven’t met a S.O. guy yet that wasn’t ultra conservative. The best revenge.

  5. Apologize to Michael Murphy’s family, personally.
And what you guys said. He needs to do community service at a VA hospital and pay for damages, too. I hope his parents are sweating through every orifice right now.

  6. Marcus Lutrel has the best idea. The kid is only 14. He would not last one day at BUDS.
Marcus is a giant next to this kid. He would learn respect, manners, and hardwork .
The state could also pay Marcus, instead of what confinement would cost.

    BRAVO Mr. Lutrel!!

  7. 60 years ago I had a “Froggy” friend who was killed by the ChiCom 2 months before the Russian “Sleeper” killed the President (9/63 for you young’s). I have since had 5 friends who were/are SEALS. Every one was/is a good Man.
this bastard needs to be shot. I volunteer!
Kill that son of a whore!~ Dead!

If you watched HM2 Lutrell’s early interviews he said he made a big mistake the he voted to let the Muslims live.

Right – I learned quickly in ’67 that you are either for me or agin me. War is for keeps. You be nice your die. HM2 Lutrell was wising he had died a decade ago. I’m sure he’s over it now.
IF you missed it had they killed the Muslims the LT. and the rest of the team would have been alive in ’06 and probably today!
War is “for keeps”; as a general rule losers are dead!

this kid is a loser and should die before ha causes more harm!

Not only am I a mean SOB I’m a hard ass – And I’m still alive; more than some ChiCom can say!

I volunteer to put him out of his misery!

  8. SO many good suggestions! I vote for all of them. So many times thesw kids get away with a pittance of punishment and learn nothing. I say bring back the draft and build real men and patriots.

  9. Like PHenry and Extirpates said, I agree with Marcus Luttrell. I also saw his interview on F&F this morning, and the man is wise beyond his years. No one would fault him if he had said he wanted to have a few hours alone with the kid, but instead he offered to have him on his ranch where he could be taught the error of his ways, and be put on the right path.

I did a lotta dumb shit when I was 14 (a LOT), and Luttrell’s reasoning really made sense to me. I hope the authorities take him up on his offer. The kid will probably never have a better shot at turning his life around.

  10. If he were an adult I would say put him in jail and throw away the key.
    But he’s 14.
Now at 14 a boy is full of shit and nonsense, and he did something stupid.
Marcus Latrell gave the most adult response I have heard about it.
    What is better?
A wayward boy punished severely, or a MAN to take the kid under his wing and teach him the true way of manhood.
Too bad the kid’s dad was not up to the job

  11. A couple of things. A fourteen year old is a damn sight older now then they were 20 years ago so let’s not get too forgiving on age. Second, I’d like to see someone have a long talk with him about where the idea to do this came from, what he thinks about the general political atmosphere and why, what are his opinions on conservatives and how did he form them etc etc. See what the root of his thinking is. The best idea I think is have him spend a summer on Luttrell’s farm. If there’s anywhere this young fellows worldview is going to be cleared up it’s there.

  12. I was taught to control my stupider impulses at an early age. I learned to respect other people’s stuff, and that there are consequences, sometimes painful, for misbehavior. (Thanks Dad.)
I never tipped a cow or desecrated a graveyard. Never tagged a building, broke windows (except by accident) or burgled a house.
I kept my sass to a minimum, and my use of illicit mood enhancers as well. This seems to have been a good policy.
Well I’m older now, coming up on retirement. Perhaps little wiser, but I have managed to stay out of serious trouble by consideration of potential consequences.

Kids these days? Not so much.
I blame the parents (if any.)
    And the schools.
    And the politicians.
    And the “News.”
And those hags on The View.
    And the Free Shit Army.
And SJWs and Libtards in general.

This is not a complete list.

  13. It was a low budget and a bit of a corny movie. But Doughboy the movie does tell a similar story to what this kid did, and how the kid in the movie was sent to be educated about the sacrifices of our military members. Assigned to work in a veterans home. Terry Kiser (of Weekend at Bernie’s I think was the only known actor. The others local stage actors from Columbus or Pittsburg)
Murph the Protector deserves much better.

  14. From what I’ve read of him, Marcus Luttrell would definitely want to spend time with the kid, and it would do him a world of good. Maybe he’ll turn around before he really gets his ass kicked.

That aside, the very first report I read of the offender’s arrest, and not noted subsequently, was that he was arrested at his home at 0300. Rousting the whole family is pretty effective; he didn’t learn that behavior in a vacuum. If mom and dad (the latter being a variable anymore) didn’t know what he was up to and who he was hanging with, they sure do now. Might have saved his life.
