Two Californians have been charged with a hate crime for painting over a Black Lives Matter mural, numerous sources reported.
Nichole Anderson, 42, and David Nelson, 53, were charged with violation of civil rights, vandalism and possession of tools to commit vandalism after they covered up the mural in front of a courthouse with paint on July 4, KRON 4 reported Tuesday. more

Someone over the weekend whitewashed a mural of George Floyd in downtown Spokane. The mural was on the outside wall of a local very popular microbrewery and restaurant and my son who liked their beer will never buy from again.

I always knew, (and said as much) that hate crimes are thought crimes and would eventually reveal themselves to be such. Here it is.
Yet defacing and destroying statues and monuments that feature whites, because they are whites, is not considered a hate crime.
Your honor, may I point out that my clients were looking out for the safety of drivers and pedestrians because they were repairing an obstruction of important safety messages. The “banner” was recklessly painted over lane and directive messages. Someone of color could be seriously injured or killed due to the confusion this “banner” creates.
I’d give ’em the Key to the City and call it GOOD.
This “mural” is graffiti and has the potential to cause an accident. We have clear road markings for a reason.
Tearing down statues, burning and looting businesses, etc, all sponsored by mayors and governors, no one gets arrested.
Restore an area that’s full of graffiti is grounds for instant arrest.

There is a big problem with having a protected classes of people living amongst us. The law isn’t applied equally.
How about another example. It’s perfectly fine and legal to burn a US flag in a show of free speech, but you’ll get 15 years in jail for burning a pride rainbow fag flag. It’s illegal to exercise your free speech by burning this flag under the belief that marriage is between a man and a woman.
This is the danger of “hate speech” that is enforced by law. It creates different classes of people. Decades of civil rights are being unwound right before our eyes and an astonishing pace.
I’m glad I grew up in a world that mostly recognized my rights and cherished liberty. Kids these days are fucked. I hope to be able to fight some of this destruction to our republic by educating the little ones before I take a dirt nap. Unfortunately, it looks more like they the ones that are going to be educating me with social justice enforcers and I’ll be termed a “hateful, racist old man with no hope,” in a reeducation camp behind bars.

So, “Freedom of Speech” is a one way street and a hate crime.

Contra Costa County District Attorney Diana Becton is guilty of a hate crime for charging these two with a hate crime.

It’s not so much that history is repeated if you don’t remember it, it’s that mistakes are repeated.
And I’m seeing a lot of mistakes that aren’t new.
The only people who don’t make mistakes are people who don’t do anything. I do my best to learn from my mistakes, and so what I truly hate to do is make the same mistake twice.
Covering a vandal sprayed on slogan of an admittedly Commie organization is a hate crime? Everyone involved in bringing the charges is projecting their own guilt of what they are accusing.
After their court case, these two should apply to the city to paint “It’s okay to be white” on the same city street. When the city denies their request, sue the city for viewpoint discrimination.

Hate crimes, eh? I think California just repealed their affirmative action and extra special racial protections proposition. So how are they going to charge anyone with hate crimes? How do you enforce a hate crime ‘law’ anyway ?
