Nearly two years ago, I joked about making a deal with Massachusetts to give them Nashua. After Tuesday’s election, they might just take it. Way out west, eastern and central Oregon residents are working on a different strategy. They are trying to leave and become part of Idaho.
Who can blame them? Republican counties make up most of the state, while the densely populated coastline counties packed with Marxists decide its political color and fortunes.
But most of the land mass has folks with very different values. Ideas about life and living that their left-coast political masters despise. Divorce for irreconcilable differences makes sense. more
Good luck with that.
It’s a great idea, but has zero chance of succeeding. You need approval from both state’s legislatures, and Oregon’s will never approve.
We’ll agree ONLY if they take Portland as well, then use Portland to infect all Idaho and bring not only our own state, but all theirs under our control.
Forward!
Yoopers in Michigan have been trying to secede and form the state of Superior for years.
When any government treats its citizens as irrelevant and ignores their needs and concerns history teaches us that the options available to those people are always the same,
Taking the knee; civil war; revolution.
Its always been this way.
Simpler to build walls around Portland, Salem, and Eugene, ban travel across the barriers, choke off supplies, and shoot anyone who tries to escape. Within a week, it’ll be just like “Escape from New York”.
Maybe they just really like potatoes.
Who knows. If Oregons’ legislators stay crazy left wing they’d be happy to sign the paper to let the eastern half of the state leave-to keep it safe from mega MAGA etc…They also think that the blue part of the state supports the red half and the red half would starve without them. It’s what I read in the comments anytime New Idaho comes up. Let Eastern WA join too. Let’s just see how it goes.
Look at the heat map of dem vs repub. About 85% is red. Congress is evenly split. One of the reasons the founding fathers set up the Senate.
Then came the politicians and Mitch
I would love to see my Michigan county secede to Indiana but it’s not on the border. Damn.
Ooh! Hoohoo!
They voated!
Well, lar dee dar.
(I do, hope, they paid loyal Party members to run the voat. They earned it.)
Josephine , Douglas, and Coos county will likely follow. Jackson and Curry counties are a tossup; too many Mexifornia dope growers now. Deschutes county has too many Eugene liberals living there. I wonder if a state-wide ballot initiative would work?
Look at the map. It will never happen with the husk sticking his nose into it. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.
