San Francisco 49ers rookie Ricky Pearsall was shot in the chest during a robbery incident in the city’s Union Square and is now in serious-but-stable condition.
A suspect was arrested at the scene and is now in custody, according to authorities.
Police say Pearsall was targeted over his Rolex watch after shopping at a high-end department store in the area. More

Poor guy. Dumb for wearing that kind of watch on SF streets, but I do feel sorry for him anyway. I sure hope he didn’t pick up some terrible infections from lying wounded on that nasty sidewalk.
I didn’t see it in the story, they have in custody a 17 year old yout. With an acceptable gun. The only acceptable guns are the illegal one in SF.
I’ve read in other publications that he took the gun from his attacker and shot him. Has anyone else read that?

I can confirm the assailant was shot with his own gun and apprehended. I can’t confirm Pearshall did it, though it seems highly likely.

I saw blood on the right upper chest of dude and he was clearly in pain, but he was still getting around allright for someone with a GSW in the chest cavity so either they had occlusive dressings on it, it was deflected by a rib, or it hit a surprisingly unimportant part of his lung…
