  1. “What kind of truck is this?”

Off the top of my head, I’d say ‘angry’. Possibly, ‘German’.

But as for make & model, 2004 GMC extended cab with a crappy camper shell.

  2. It appears to be a vehicle of GM descent. Toyotas have a stouter stance with a rounded rear cab and headlights that extend further around the side. The rounded cab also makes the bottom of the window from the B pillar to the C pillar sweep upwards from front to rear. Plus mud guards and many more differences.

  3. Does anybody else see the pitfalls involved here when the police offer remuneration for what should be public civic duty?

I thought this practice went out of style with the betamax and I can see nothing but problems with it. Who determines the amount offered? Since the taxpayer ultimately fits the bill, do they get consulted? Since LA is a progressive city, do they use the typical inter-sectional hierarchy to determine worth, such as a gay person is worth more than a straight, a woman is worth more than a man, and a minority is worth more than a Caucasian? And does this mean that from now on all crimes where a suspect is not in custody, all these crimes will have a reward attached to them? I can just see the family of a drive by shooting victim suing the police because a reward was not offered for their dead family member.

I can see the family offering up private money as incentive but municipalities expose themselves to liability when they pick and chose which crime is worthy of public monies as rewards.

  4. You know who else is heartless? The person crossing the street who saw it happen, sees the victim run over then continues on his way with a spring in his step. 😡

  5. No self-respecting “dreamer” would be caught dead in a Toyota. Obviously a GMC, 1999 or early 2000s. Guy is obviously Mexican. Good thing LA is a sanctuary city. Good thing CA gives drivers licenses to these invaders. If I was the victim I would sue California and LA. If I lived.

  6. The fact that a dozen people here correctly identified that as a GMC and not a Toyota, clearly demonstrates the incompetence of the LAPD. This is what you get with a bunch of “quota hires”.

  7. I’ve had a couple of Tundra double cab trucks, there’s one in the driveway this very moment.

That is not a Toyota Tundra of any generation, not even the early T100 variant.
