Six people from New Jersey as well as residents of Indiana, Illinois and New Mexico have been charged with felony violations of the federal Animal Welfare Act for their alleged involvement in a dog fighting ring, Assistant Attorney General John Cruden for the Department of Justice’s Environment and Natural Resources Division and U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman for the District of New Jersey announced.

Prosecutors allege the group — ranging in age from 30-years-old to 62-years-old — bought, sold, trained, transported and delivered pit bull-type dogs for fighting in various states from October 2015 until their arrests. Eight of the individuals were arrested as part of the investigation, a ninth man was already in custody on unrelated charges. Officials rescued 66 dogs in total.  more

  1. I wonder if PETA ever protests dog fighting. I mean right in front of the place.
Or are they more comfortable protesting old ladies in fur coats or men carrying leather briefcases.

  2. A new betting “sport” should be invented. Take all politicians and deprive them of just one of their favorite perks. Give it to the politician next to him/her, then let the winner of the physical fight re-gain their perk and take away all the perks of the loser. How fun could that be.

  3. Well, if there’s any justice these ratbags will catch some prison time and end up in a few Gladiator Fights (made famous by some California Correctional Institutions) of their own while being raped and beaten. Clicking your heels three times won’t get you out of the “OZ” you’re heading to.
