91 Year-Old Man in Detroit Peels Off a Shot To the Neck Of Would-Be Mugger

This is a huge net gain in the war between good guys versus bad guys. Now scumbags have to suspect that just about anyone could be packing. Good going Mr. 91 Year-old. The only thing you did wrong was not plugging him with a tax-payer relief shot.

Aim for center mass.

Eastpointe police say a 91-year-old man shot an attempted robbery suspect outside of a Rite Aid on 9 Mile around 10 a.m. Monday.

Police say the elderly man declared he was a CPL holder as he noticed the suspect approaching him erratically. The suspect then reportedly pointed an unknown object at the victim, and that’s when the 91-year-old pulled out his gun and opened fire, striking the suspect in the neck.

“This was an attempted robbery of the shooter,” Eastpointe Deputy Police Chief Eric Keiser said. “The person who fired the shots had a CPL and was lawfully carrying a handgun and said that he defended himself when he was attacked.”

The suspect, described as a black male in his late 20s, was transported to a nearby hospital in police custody.

According to Keiser, they are consulting with the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office to make sure he did act in self defense and was legal in what he did.

If charges are authorized, there’s a change the arraignment could happen on Tuesday.

  1. We are one of the designated spots in California to sign the petitions for the referendum on all those gun laws that were just rammed down our throats here in Cali. Earlier this week I contacted our local Tea Party and let them know we had the petitions. It’s been a fairly steady stream of 65 years old plus couples coming in and signing and they are all ccw’s.
we makes me think the Tea Party needs to start trying to get some younger people involved by the way.

  2. Is the stomach cavity center mass? Yes. Is the stomach cavity CSN? No. Is the neck CSN? A direct hit yes. How long for the threat to no longer be a threat if shot in the abs? 15 minutes. How long for the threat to no longer be a threat if hit CNS? Immediate. Hopefully your getting my point.

  3. Most of you deadeyes probably won’t even be alive when you’re 91. Those of you that are will probably be in the old folks home. Those very few that are left walking around will be hard pressed to still able to walk to the drug store. Those that can may not be able to see well. Those of you left who have made it through all these wickets would be hard pressed to hit anything under mortal duress, which is hard at any age. So cut the guy some slack and pray the DA doesn’t go after him on a technicality.

Just as a reminder, shooting with the intention of killing – ie: a head shot on purpose when you could have aimed at a larger area, could land you in court on a murder charge. You’ll need to prove it was incidental/unintentional or only option. And with advising to purposefully make a kill shot, your chances of being found innocent will diminish.

Self defense is not hunting. I can see why you have the arguments you’re making about being sure the threat is stopped, but this is over the line, an intentional kill will likely end in you serving time for it. And your posted words here are clear that you intend to kill.

God help you if you shoot someone tomorrow and it’s in the head.

This is the “other”, but more important, reason center mass shots are advised. The first being able to hit them at all by aiming at the largest target area.

It very may well be that part of the head is the only exposed area leaving it the largest mass to shoot at the center of.

But if it aint – it aint. And that’s an important distinction as far as the prosecutor is concerned.

I should have said: , but no less important,..
