99 College Campuses Closed Over the Past Year – Is Yours Next?

ZERO HEDGE

Abbey Ballentine, a student from Ohio’s Cleveland area, selected nearby Notre Dame College because it had everything she was looking for. It was a small, friendly campus with competitive Division II soccer and it was close to home.

By late fall of 2023, just a few months into her freshman year, she heard rumors the school had financial problems.

The official closure announcement was made early into the spring semester and the college closed its doors in May.

Campus advisors and administrators helped students quickly find other schools within a reasonable distance that would honor their financial aid packages and accept academic credits. Ballentine chose Thiel College in western Pennsylvania. MORE

  1. YOU CAN NOT CLOSE ENOUGH COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES QUICK ENOUGH!! These are nothing but indoctrination factories and are an amazingly stupid way to flush $250,000.00 down the toilet while ending up with a child that is dumb as a box of rocks in the process. WORST DECISION EVER and hope they all fail soon!

  2. “Exercise Science”? There’s a big part of the problem. I bet half of these foundering “Historically Educational Colleges & Universities” could reopen as vocational training centers, producing graduates with valuable certification in useful, lucrative trades.

  3. Oh I agree Third Twin! She went from something useful “Nursing” to something useless “Exercise Science”! I had a former friend in the early 90’s who was an excellent car salesman but went back to university and got a 4 year Honors (!) degree in Recreation. He ended up working at a call center for a telephone company. A Recreation Degree – does that qualify you to be a Recreation Director on a Cruise Ship?

  4. My art school was a great school for middle class kids to get an education. I get alumni news and see what is happening on campus now. It’s an endless parade of politically motivated celebrations of equity and diversity. Shepard Fairey was just there lecturing on activism and graphic design. He put up VOTE posters all over campus (hmmm…for which side, I wonder?).

The quality of art has declined as this mindset has taken over (imho). We thought about donating part of our estate there to establish a scholarship. We aren’t convinced they’d use our money as we intended. So, screw it. The creative fields are being replaced by Ai anyway. 😉

I guess the last part of your missive answered my question(s)
-Being a graduate of your alma mater, do you get “please donate” letters?
-Do you donate, or just send the letters to where they rightfully belong, the fire pit or the recycle.
