I’m assuming when he says ‘Police’ he is talking about law enforcement in the cities. If he was talking about out in the counties he would need to include the ‘Sheriffs’ and thus should have said ‘State and Local Law Enforcement’.

The CITIES DO NOT have an overabundance of 2A Guns. Because many of the most crime ridden cities have strict gun control laws if not outright gun bans.
Those cities that DO allow guns are populated by people who have been brainwashed into hating guns or are afraid of guns or, thanks to liberal education systems, have no understanding of guns outside of what they see in movies and TV.
Dear Michael Moore – The guns are in the hands of the people out in the suburbs and rural areas, not the cities. If you disarmed the police in the cities you would turn every major metropolis into DETROIT.

Your first paragraph is right in the sense it is about self defense.
Your second paragraph is right in the sense of protecting yourself from our own Gov.
But I’m pretty sure he isn’t saying both of those things.
MM seems to tweet that we will protect ourselves from criminals – which is fine and correct usage of our firearms – but I don’t see him mentioning the angle of protecting ourselves from the police/Gov with them.
Seems to be a leap to say he gets it about the tyranny-fighting aspect of having firearms.
As for him assuming we’ll be all fine without the police being armed, well that has to be the stupidest thing I’ve heard from him today. Shit will really hit the fan if that happens. He really hasn’t paid attention to these riots when the police are ordered to stand down or to places where the police are absent in general.
