Gawker: How Does So Much Stupid Get Crammed Into One Website?

From the authors to the readers, Gawker is a site that has an endless amount of stupid.

Take for instance their latest post about ISIS employing young teens to summarily execute captured soldiers in an amphitheater in Syria.

Here are some commenters:

In my opinion, there’s no single larger war crime/act of terrorism than the dropping of the bombs on Japan as as we instantly incinerated hundreds of thousand of civilians, largely women and children. – Bobby Serious

And, with that, the commenters were off to the races. The post was no longer about current atrocities committed by ISIS, it was about America – the most evil country on the planet.
It doesn’t matter to these sh!tstains when you point out that America was ending a war, not escalating it. It also doesn’t matter to these mouth breathers that these atrocities by ISIS are ones committed in the name of erecting a worldwide caliphate.  Doesn’t matter. They know one thing – America is bad. Very, very bad.

 

And then we have Spr0kets –

The fallacy here is that you’re introducing another war atrocity that has nothing to do with this one being discussed as a means of using it as a cudgel with which to beat the US/Americans with in your attempt to imply that Americans shouldn’t judge ISIS (and I’m not American).

“Whataboutism”

A favorite of Conservatives here in the US.

The typical format will be in the form….

Person 1 : “Michael Brown/John Crawford III/Tamir Rice were gunned down unarmed by police in yet another killing of an unarmed black man/teen by cops in this country…”

Whataboutist : “Yeah,….well…..what about all those blacks killing other blacks in Chicago/Detroit/Insert-inner-city-suburb-here? What about all that “black-on-black crime” (TM) that no one in the black community likes to talk about? How come no one want s to deal with it?

Person 1 : “Yes, black-on-black crime is an awful thing that the black community (probably with the help of the white establishment) needs to deal with. But that has nothing to do with this case we’re currently talking about and is only being introduced as a means by which to suggest that the black community has no right nor moral authority to demand accountability and justice from the White establishment while they’re busy murdering their own.”

That’s YOU in a nutshell.

More meandering in order to use “his own cudgel.”

His argument sounds impressive, until you realize he’s left out the part that the “stupid conservatives” object to- The #BlackLivesMatter meme.

The left points out that ISIS are killing fellow Muslims. Suppose the “moderate” Muslims, in an effort to police ISIS, killed a few of them during some arrests and ISIS suddenly whipped up a Twitter meme called “#MuslimLivesMatter”?

Would the “moderate” Muslims be out of line to point to this meme and say, “c’mon, really?”

I’d say their “whataboutism” would be well founded in this case, no?

It’s not out of line to point out that the blacks’ political slogan, “BlackLivesMatter,” is completely inaccurate given the amount of black on black murder, and its implication is an overreach when addressing, specifically, police abuse.

Getting back to Islam, some commenters compared Gitmo to Auschwitz. My reply would be to remind them that if that is the case, Obama is Hitler. I don’t see anyone over at Gawker trying to take out “Hitler.” In fact, they voted for “Hitler.”

You know what else I learned at Gawker, ISIS has nothing to do with Islam. That’s right.
The Nazi’s were the National Socialist Party, yet thousands of actual Socialists were killed under the Third Reich. It’s almost as if these groups understand that people will make assumptions based on a name and loose associations and use that to their advantage. -Sneakys
Oy.
Just as ISIS is killing the “wrong kind of Muslim,” Hitler killed the wrong kind of German. ISIS is cleansing Islam for religious purity. There are millions of Muslims that agree with ISIS.
Okay, I have a headache. Enough fisking of the depressing Gawker.

  1. BFH isn’t it all just mind-blowingly stupefying? I don’t know how you can wade through it all really. The amount of damage inflicted by the liberal control of the schools many decades ago now and the media is just beyond belief. The commie-socialist long term plan has/is worked- they’ve ruined it. Behold the fruits of their labors.

  3. Gawker ( and it’s spin off Wonkette) are the most vile of websites I’ve ever come across.
    I hear they aren’t in the best position financially, and if Hulk Hogan wins his lawsuit against them, they may be forced out of business. 🙂

  4. Would anyone in their right mind ever link a Gawker article to a friend? Noticed that BFH did not provide a link. That would have been embarrassing.

  7. Mass delusion.
    This phenomena is not new to the world but, seemingly has a huge group in it’s grasp. The ‘mass delusion’ is part of the curriculum now a days from childhood through adult. The propaganda machine has never stopped.

    The only way to stop it is to instill a sense of self awareness in people. Encourage thinking for themselves. Who has time for that -or- who takes the time for that?

    Free thought has no real reenforcement in this ‘new age’ of information. How can free thought compete in a world of controlled noise and confusion?
