  1. The show Spitting Image was all over this 30 years ago. I got to England in the Air Force and one of the first things we were told was never make fun of the royal family, First thing I see on TV is Spitting Image every Saturday night absolutely mocking the royals, as well as Reagan, Thatcher and everyone else.

It doesn’t seem as funny now that I’m older, and sober

  2. That open-handed outstretched arm salute didn’t get associated with the evils of the Nazis until some years later. Also, remember that the salute Americans gave for the Pledge of Allegiance was originally the same thing.

  3. When we were kids in the forties, after the war, we used to adorn our brown paper bag covered texts books with natzi insignas, Union Jacks, American Flags; American planes attacking German ships. And so forth.
It was called doodling and quite innocent. My Dad did not like the natzi sign but he enjoyed the art.

Today I would probable be put in jail and my family exposed as natzis.

Pure politically correct bullshit like the removal of the rebel flag , bullshit!

  4. Outside of the British Isles, it was not generally known in December 1936 that Edward VIII was forced to renounce the throne because of his Nazi support. His relationship with Wallis Simpson was a convenient face-saving excuse.

Eventually, the truth behind all of history is revealed.
“You ain’t seen nothing yet.” 🙂
