ALBANY, Ga. (AP) — A former peanut company executive was sentenced Monday to 28 years in prison for his role in a deadly salmonella outbreak, the stiffest punishment ever handed out to a producer in a foodborne illness case.
The outbreak in 2008 and 2009 was blamed for nine deaths and sickened hundreds more, and triggered one of the largest food recalls in U.S. history. more here

When I initially heard about this, I was willing to suspend judgement for the moment.
But when I heard later that he has falsified reports, I was glad he got a 28 years sentence.

Would someone please explain to me this idiocy. How in the hell do you get to an 803 year sentence and how in the hell would that be more severe than life.
This poor guy gets 28 years in prison, VW could get 18 Billion dollar fine for their emissions lie – what’s GM get? No one goes to prison, no one losses their job, 30 Billion in loans from the tax payer forgiven, and fined 900 Million for killing 124 people and injuring 275 more for their faulty ignition switches.
Looks like your better off killing people – or maybe GM just gets a pass from this administration.
You get it by the court “stacking” sentences on multiple charges. And, since I seem to remember the average time served on a “life” sentence is something like eight years, you do more time that way.

While he knowingly killed people by selling his product to other companies, look how many people the Clinton Goon Squad have dispatched all over their greed to keep their power. Neither one has spent a day in jail.
