If they don’t like Columbus Day, they should Sioux.
(bahdumpbump!… tish!)
I really really really tried to think of what indigenous people have done to make this a better, more modern and successful country and I couldn’t come up with any! Please help me out!
Plenty, actually.
Who taught the original survival skills to European settlers?
Who were the Code Talkers in the Marines?
Who intermarried with Europeans to provide a unique US bloodline and character?
Me likem white eyes, kimmosabe.
Thank you avgdude.
Yes, plus modern and successful brought us Common Core and Obama.
Chief \%/
Party like it’s 1492!
why do you bury indians on the SIDE of a hill?
because they are dead.
duh
Indigenous Peoples Day?
They walked here from Siberia 15K years ago.
Wow, you are certainly right without all those magnificent achievements and contributions America would still be a
rustic and backwards backwater of pre-civilisation! Thanks!!!
Who are the Indigenous People? “Native Americans” were here when Columbus arrived, but who were hear when the “Native Americans” arrived?
Maybe we should celebrate Siberia abandonment day!
Siberians!!!
All your Indigenous Peoples are belong to U.S.
CASINOs, man!
Indigenous? Oh Native…..why don’t you just say native.
I was born in Chicago. THAT makes me a “native” American.
What a crock of bullshit.
I’m a “native American.”
I’m an “indigenous person.”
Can I have some free shit?
Let’s celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day by not using anything that has wheels or written text
OK everyone of European decent, pack up and go back to Euroland. Everyone else, give back Western Civilization, you’re not using it anyway.
I Hopi you’re proud of yourself.
There were TWO major crossings of the Bering Sea land bridge. The first occurred way before the second. The second group is the one the ‘tards call native Americans or indigenous people. Anthropologists discovered graves that were much older than any from known American Indian tribes and when the DNA was checked, it was different.
The problem was there were no living descendants of these people. Research revealed the answer — the “native Americans” or “indigenous people” that were the SECOND group murdered or enslaved those of the first group. The women they didn’t murder were used to produce children to such an extent that their DNA all but disappeared from the planet. Had those graves never been found, no one would have even known of their existence.
Extinction. That is what indigenous people’s day is celebrating.
You got it, Bubba! Anyone who thinks the Indians gave up scalping white people has never visited an Indian casino.
😉
In celebration of IPD and their gift of syphilis to the world, I’m giving away smallpox blankets. Be sure to get your Obama Blanket and one for a friend.
Happy Indoctrinate the LoFos Day.
I have mixed feelings about this one. True the European track record when encountering the natives of a new land did not have a good track record when it comes to treating them. But some things like exposure to diaseases were often unintentional and done out of ignorance of medical knowledge we take for granted today. But without European exploration and discovery, what would the current world look like? Certainly a nation like the USA who has created an free market atmosphere that has lifted so many of the world out of poverty would not exist. By rewriting history to celebrate what is fashionable today does not change it.
And everyone involved in the that far back is dead, so part of me
says ” get over it and deal with things we can change today”
You mean the still in the Stone Age people while the rest of the world had metallurgy and navigation?
There is a sense of the inexorable here. When cultures collide: the dominant culture prevails and the weaker culture dies. Same with species: the dominant species survives and the weaker species becomes extinct.
THIS is why it is imperative that we fight izlam, socialism, progressivism, totalitarianism, faggism, unionism, and #BlackLiesMatter-style “negroism.”
THAT is why we must NEVER surrender our arms, our rights, our Constitution, and our way of life.
WE must take the fight to THEM and destroy them, root and branch.
“Cut them down like a pine.”
I heard about that.
Do you have a link please?
Id like to learn more.
Tim, but remember, the U.S. never actually destroys its enemies.
Time for a change?
Me too.
Me too. My right am and right leg are Passamaquoddy. Say that 10 times while sober. Passa ma-what?
Paternal grandmother was Passamaquoddy. Big deal. I look about as Indian as Fauxcahontas.
‘enslavement, genocide, and cultural destruction’ – Columbus brought these? Ha ha ha ha there speaks the people with big forked tongues. Enslavement, genocide, and cultural destruction were already a practiced by the ‘indiginous people’ when Columbus arrived. The tribes were quite good at enslaving and killing other tribes. Bunch of BS to act as though they were like peaceful peace loving Muslims.
Forgot to say it’s faux Indians like Ward Churchill who started this crap.
Dinesh D’Souza writes about this and provides many references in ‘Obama’s America’. ‘Stranded’ probably has more info too.
Carp! ‘America, Imagine a World Without Her” Sorry got my books corn-fused.
Nice job inventing the wheel…Oh, wait…
Reportedly the “best” light cavalry on this planet; but no logistics…see “wheel” comment earlier. Local, limited projection of force.
Want to learn about how gentle and multicultural the Indians were? Read “Scalp Dance: Indian Warfare on the High Plains, 1865-1879”.

And while we’re at it, let’s shit-can the term “Native American”. There are some compelling points to the whole Solutrean hypothesis that argues the red men weren’t necessarily the first ones on the block!
PS: Oh, and ditto for the term “Indigenous peoples”!
There may be something to the Solutrean hypothesis: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solutrean_hypothesis
When Columbus day was changed here in SD, we were all upset over AIM and wounded knee in the mid 70’s. Thanks to Russell Means, we now have Native American day. Pfft. Makes no difference to me, I’m just as native as they.
I always told my nephews if their ancestors were smarter and fought harder, i wouldnt be here, and they would.
Spanish introduced horses to the New World – what’d they do before that?
As a proud, white, catholic American heterosexual male of Italian descent, I prefer Indigenous Italians Day in honor of my brother from Genova.
