When I read about the Paris police dog getting killed I was, and still am, pissed off. I rescue animals, both wild and domestic.
Why put a dog in that environment? A dog, no matter how well trained, does not know when to run from danger. The dog should have been left at home or the station.
These police know the terrorists are armed up the wazoo. That was abuse! The dogs need to be left in a safe place when dealing with these fanatics!
I am writing a letter to the Paris police about this.

God’s animals teach us lessons. They are brave and do what they are taught. We need to be brave and do what we need to do to keep our citizens and country safe!

So, it’s OK in your mind for a police person to be killed in the line of duty but not his /handler/companion? The amazing thing about service people and dogs, police, firemen, EMTs, bomb techs etc. they run towards danger and it is their honour to serve.
Write your indignant letter, you will not advance your cause and the French shall make fun of the silly American.
