There is nothing like a thick juicy steak, but if Chatham House, a London based think tank gets it way the Paris climate change conference next week will recommend member countries cut down on meat consumption to help stem “global warming“.  More @ TheLid

  9. I have a freezer full of elk and deer and had to make room for a ten kilogram case of export grade King Crab legs on Monday. Screw the bastards, I eat meat because I am a red-blooded American heterosexual male.

  13. I’m pro-warming, so I’m doing everything I can to help the planet worm up a bit. Throughout recorded history, warmer periods have been when civilizations advance and people prosper. Colder periods have been times of famine, wars, plagues, and great suffering. Only a foolish misanthrope would want to climate to cool.

    Whole pork loins were on sale for $1.79 a pound, so I bought four of them and stashed them in the freezer. Not only is it really tasty, I can sleep easier knowing I’m doing my part to make the planet a slightly warmer, more hospitable place.

    Countries don’t eat meat or anything else. Individual people do.

    And being an individual person, I have no intention of cutting down on my consumption of nice, tasty, meat. I just cooked a 6+ lb standing rib roast Sunday (delicious!), and will sit down to a 16 lb turkey tomorrow for our family Thanksgiving dinner. There’s a good chance I’ll be grilling some sirloin cap when tomorrow’s leftovers run out.

    p.s. My standard midnight snack is four or six strips of yummy BACON.

  21. Animal protein when consumed has side effects. No shit. Proven fact that human meat eaters have an easier time progressing from anger to killing rage. No politician or social planner sees any upside to that in a population they are trying to control.

    Best way I heard it said was a few remarks about an action that might piss off a particular local fellow. “So, how mad can he get? He a vegetarian?”

    Let’s check. Hey! BadBrad, you eat much animal protein?

    I tried, really tried, to be a wine snob, but although I can taste the difference, it isn’t enough of a difference to pay a lot of money for good wine when Carlo Rossi 3-liter jugs go on sale for $9.99, or $8.99 if you buy six at a time. Thanks, CVS!

    Distilled spirits are different. Bulleit rye, George Dickel bourbon, The Macallan whisky.

Completely agree on the whiskeys and bourbons, but vodka?….unless it’s a martini, I go for carlo rossi vodka…it comes in a case price too…LOL…L&M liquors, Downs Kansas…one restaurant/bar, just food and booze and one hell of a nice/free shooting range 1 mile outta town….strange how all those three things seem to go together….
