Trump’s “Unsubstantiated Prescience” – IOTW Report

Trump’s “Unsubstantiated Prescience”

Soon the left will be telling their lofo minions that Donald Trump said he wants to gas all the Muslims. They don’t seem to be able to run a story about his suggestion, that we pause the green-lighting of Muslim immigrants, without running a picture of Hitler next to his.

One idiotic response from politicians (why are we listening to politicians? It’s exactly why we like Trump- because he isn’t one) is that this is unconstitutional. Sadly, Ben Carson, who continues to reveal, bit by bit, that he really is nothing more than an amiable guy who caught lightning in a bottle with a singular prayer breakfast speech, joined the chorus of the “this is unconstitutional” dimwits.

“We do not discriminate on people based on religion — that’s constitutional, that’s in the First Amendment, so we would never want to do that,”

“It’s just not who we are,” Carson said. – CNN

(I have officially written Ben off my presidential shortlist for uttering the phrase “it’s not who we are.” Sorry. This is a squishy prog-prone litmus test, and Ben failed.)

Hey, I’m not a brain surgeon, but I’m pretty sure immigrants do not have a constitutional right to enter America… even if they were 7th Day Adventists.

It is true that the Constitution does not give foreigners the right to enter the U.S. – ACLU

What makes Ben’s remark exponentially stupid is that earlier in the year he said would never support a Muslim running for president. Carson supports their “constitutional right” to worm their way into America, but he draws the line at a constitutionally eligible Muslim’s right to run for the presidency. Strange dichotomy.

It’s odd that the left, the very people who seek to create a world of safe spaces, free of anyone and anything that offends them, painting with extremely broad brushes (all straight people, all white people, and all conservatives are often the excluded), would be appalled at Trump seeking to create a safe space.

The left are the same people who welcome unvetted illegal immigrants into their city while “deporting” the ROTC. (I wonder if that’s constitutional?)

No, Trump’s position is the correct one, especially as a businessman, where success can be measured by how often they ask themselves “what is the upside to this?”

What is the upside of letting Muslim immigrants into America?

Can this be answered in a manner not reminiscent of a Sarah McLachlan commercial?

Trump’s position is not wrong, if anything it might be simply too early for some people’s tastes.

If in the next two weeks there were 11 more terrorist attacks similar to the San Bernardino one, anyone not agreeing to a moratorium on allowing Muslim immigrants into the country would be shoved aside for the crackpot they are.

So, Trump’s position is not an appallingly immoral or illiberal one, it’s an “unsubstantiated prescient one” (if I may use some leftspeak-style phraseology.)

30 Comments on Trump’s “Unsubstantiated Prescience”

  1. He’s banned in 39 states.

Something to do with an un-licensed concealed weapon that he can’t leave at home.

They almost made him wear an ankle bracelet that alerts the authorities whenever he got within shopping range of broccoli.

  2. This subject was on the Pat & Stu show yesterday. Stu was going on and on on how it is not constitutional to discriminate against moselms wanting to come here because of our “American Values of religious freedom”. I was screaming at the radio. Had to turn it off.

I think these guys are so anti-Trump they have lost their minds.

  3. No. We’re not all thinking that.
Obviously there are Muslims who are fine, decent, productive, etc. citizens.

I’m not interested in them. I don’t need them paraded around. I don’t need awards given to them.

You’re SUPPOSED to be a fine, decent, productive etc. citizen!

I’m interested in the millions of Muslims who wish to do us harm. And they are out there. Plotting. Planning. Waiting.
No other identifiable group of people on earth today has within their circle so many murderers who are murdering on behalf of this group. People in that group who do not want the other people to do any murdering on their behalf is nothing but cold comfort.

Sorry, there is no easy way to tell them apart. So, as a consequence, we can’t let any new Muslims in. If a Muslim doesn’t understand this they really do not care for America’s well-being, do they?

  4. Everybody’s in high dudgeon because they wish that they’d said it earlier, with maggotty, mealy-mouthed, weasel words that wouldn’t have set off the socialist punditry.

    Fucking hypocrites.
    Lying fucking hypocrites.

  5. “Sorry, there is no easy way to tell them apart.”

There is no way to tell them apart – PERIOD.

They are encouraged to lie to infidels, mind reading doesn’t work, and only God knows the heart.

  6. Since when does the Constitution apply to non-citizens? Since when does the Constitution limit the ability to control our own boarders? The left loves building armies full of straw men.

Oh yeah, and Carson is off the list. He reminds me of Colin Powell, he walked like an elephant but talked like the donkey.

  7. Constitutional scholar Josh Earnest said this DISQUALIFIES Mr. Trump from running for the presidency.
He IS behind a microphone, AND speaking with obamas voice, so it must be true.
Question: Do people listen to anything in context anymore? It’s as though these people are a bunch of fourth graders running telling outrageous fibs about the new popular kid. I mean Earnest actually said Mr. Trumps hair is fake! Why go personal? Just WOW.
As to Carson, well I have been thinking from the beginning that he is a flash in the pan. He knew it too, but it helped book sales. He will quietly fall off the radar pretty soon. Oh, he’ll put up a good little struggle for appearances – then he will drift off into the distance.
“It’s just not who we are”. I have no words for that.
Mr. Trump should just explain, over and over, EVERY time he is asked about his statement, precisely what he meant. And tell the interviewing reporter that he knows they are purposefully spinning his words out of context.

  8. The qualifications to be a brain surgeon are intelligence, dexterity, dedication, and skill. Unfortunately, there are many other factors required to be an effective President. Just “looking good” doesn’t do it. That’s how we got in our current situation.

  9. I think the establishment will try to push Mr. Trump to go Indy. They know they will lose the White House if he does, but it is the only way to stop Mr. Trump, so they will do it. He cannot win as an Indy, so the vote splits. Many Repubs have already hinted they will vote Hill over Mr. Trump, or sit the vote out altogether if Mr. Trump gets the nomination. Fact is that they do not give a damn about the will of the voters. But we knew that already – this just throws it in our faces.

  10. Exactly on target Big Fur. Also, as I’ve been saying, jihadists are ISLAM’s and the MUSLIM’S problem. It’s not OUR problem. Tell them to get back to us when they’ve fixed it, and maybe we’ll start letting some of them back in.

  11. I am beginning to think that a ‘Moderate Muslim’ is one who has not gotten to the part of the Koran that says it is OK to lie to, abuse and kill all infidels, in the name of Allah.

And I hate to point out the obvious, but anyone who believes otherwise isn’t lying to others, but lying to themselves as well.

  12. And they are out there. Plotting. Planning. Waiting.
No other identifiable group of people on earth today has within their circle so many murderers who are murdering on behalf of this group

Glad they’re not joining the Tea Party anywhere. Wouldn’t that be confusing for the lefties?

“Muslims are peaceful! Wait! No, they’re terrorists! No wait… uhhh”

  13. Questioning the constitutionality of a mohammadman ban is a smoke screen. The means of enacting such a ban are already written into US law here:

    8 U.S. Code § 1182
    (f) Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President
Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate. Whenever the Attorney General finds that a commercial airline has failed to comply with regulations of the Attorney General relating to requirements of airlines for the detection of fraudulent documents used by passengers traveling to the United States (including the training of personnel in such detection), the Attorney General may suspend the entry of some or all aliens transported to the United States by such airline.

    So, there. Neener.

  14. Dave, I’m with you. I can’t listen to them ragging on and on about Trump. They do not have a clue. Used to be a devoted Beck follower, but no longer. They didn’t have a clue in the 2012 elections either. If Newt had won, we would not be in this mess now. I, like you, had to turn it off. Pat and Stu better wise up.

And Fur, the way you write is delicious. I know it takes much time and thought, but what a joy to read. Thanks.

  15. Funny how the people accusing Trump of being like Hitler are the very types who brought Hitler to power, and trying to take our nation down the very same road as Hitler and the commies did to Europe. It seems to me they are just projecting.

  16. They were “fine, decent, productive” in Europe….until they weren’t.
This is the most ignorant statement you’ve ever made.

    Read

    the

    quran!

No such thing as a decent moslem. Those who smile at you are just waiting.
And DBF, how do we know which of them do. Or don’t? If they’re moslem, they practice it as it is in the quran. Please read it.
It is wholly incompatible with Western Civilization.

  17. We don’t discriminate based upon religion. But islam is NOT a legitimate religion, it’s a political ideology and, even as 0bama was forced to say about iSIS the other day, it is a “cult of death”.

We the People won’t allow that kind of thing in the country that our forefathers fought and died to protect. That would make us traitors.

If they denounce islam and convert to something else, let them be thoroughly vetted. And then send them back to where they came from because no moslem can be trusted to tell the truth — they are taught to lie in order to advance the caliphate.
