Assemblywoman Patty Lopez (D-San Fernando) told the Los Angeles Times that she is not alone in her reversal regarding Brown’s pet project; five other Democrats have joined her. 1. People voted for a _HIGH_SPEED_ rail system that connected San Diego-Los Angeles-San Francisco. Because the TSA has made flying a time-consuming exercise in pointless masochism. Nobody wants to show up two hours before a 30 minute flight for that TSA nut sack inspection, just in case the terrorists have hidden a bomb behind your nuts.

What the glorious government decided to build is not only NOT high speed, it also does not directly connect the cities it is supposed to connect.

It looks like a corrupt five year old drew a random squiggle on a map that just happened to connect every crappy town in the Central Valley to the no-longer-high-speed-rail-system that-doesn’t-go-where-it’s-supposed-to.

I’m also pretty sure all the money has been spent on environmental impact studies, too.

  2. There’s too much ‘High’ in that high-speed-rail idea.
And, lady, the benefit goes to the progtards, politicians (I know, redundant) and the labor unions that build it, maintain it, run it, etc.
Better you get back on the plantation, toot sweet.

  3. Windmills, trains. electric cars.
Progressives never cease to believe that their glory years in the early 20th century were based on such fixtures and that bringing them back will return their glory.

  4. “Lopez stated that high-speed rail would increase crime and destroy businesses in her mostly Latino, working-class district.”

Why, does the train come straight outta Compton? I’d love to see her flesh out her thesis.
