Cripes. I can’t even get clear ice cubes from the freezer.
I always try to avoid ice holes, but it’s hard when you meet so many of them on a daily basis.

Skating on clear ice like that is great. You don’t get conditions like that often so you have to take advantage of it when it’s there.

I wouldn’t even walk on that if were very thick glass. I have an aversion to seeing nothing under me but rocks. The glass observation platform over the Grand Canyon scares the shit out of me.
I’ve only seen this one time in 50 years living on a lake. The ice cracks and forms beautiful patterns.
There were ice fishers out here last couple weeks, but we had a big storm blow through yesterday and lost all the ice out front. I’m hoping the water is still agitated when it re-freezes so we get clear ice again.

Did you see one of the videos displayed after this one was done? It was about skating on clear ice. What was weird is seeing the fish swimming under you as you skate!
