From the pic, looks like the truck might have been too high for the bridge too. Common sense fail all around!
Math is sexist!!
Actually, she didn’t need to know weight or height. The “no trucks” sign should have stopped all deliberation.
Common Core math/reading fail?
You also have to include the weight of your passenger.
Like if the worst lady was with you.
As I was explaining the situation to my son (he’s across the room) he gasped and within seconds said, “That’s THIRTY tons!!” In seconds he knew what in how many weeks of driving school she couldn’t figure out.
He’s TWELVE!!!!!
Even the covering part of the bridge alone would make me hesitate.
Why is this woman driving a large truck that weighs 30 tons? What a moron, I hope they take her license away and make her pay for destroying that bridge.
To all New Yorkers, IT”S A TRAP!! DON”T READ THIS OUT LOUD !!
It’s a $250,000.00 fine just waiting for you!
Why is this woman driving anything larger than a Tonka Truck?
Matter of fact, playing with Tonka Trucks would have taught her about backing up!
She was just creating some shovel ready jobs for the Oblowme regime.
Math is hard.

And so am I.

Obviously she was too big for her bridges.
L-O-L!!!! BRAVO!!!
WHere did she get her license? As a prize from a Cracker Jack box?
???
for GI Joe Ken added under his breath
Hey you sexist, you know that it is near impossible to read signs and put on makeup at the same time. Ever hear of priorities?
Bridges? I don’t need no Stinkin Bridges!
Is that six tons before you eat or after you eat?
LOL I always suspected Ken was swishy! Waaaay too into fashion!
Men!!!… And their stupid Math!!!…
Says she’s formerly Amish. Do they not teach mathematics in their schools?
It’s hard to divide using Roman numerals.
😛
Looks like a 9 foot head and she’s got a 12’+ truck, something else wrong with her thinking here.
The article said “an Amish” woman. What does that have to do with the fact that she doesn’t know math and can”t read? I’m surprised that more of these accidents don’t happen. Her next job will be at McDonalds or working on an Amish farm.
you clever devil
After the wreck, it was revealed that prior to being a truck driver, the Amish woman’s only experience with driving was with a horse and buggy.
And the road too narrow to turn around.
Probably paid by construction union to do it, so they get contract to build new bridge. Paid her 2000 pennies.
One person wrote: ‘I would look into the trucking school or trucking company that sponsored her training.
‘How do you go thru CDL school and get certified and not know the very basics of weight and/or the weight of even your empty truck and trailer which is still too heavy?’
Ayuh. I think it was one company’s policy to pair newbie drivers with me until I quit them. Didn’t they tell you not to use the jake downhill on snowpack? was one of the better ones. Not a lot of sleep.
Hey guys. My best girlfriend drives big rigs and has never done something stupid like this. I submit it’s not the sex, but the stupidity that causes stunts like this.
Sex will do it too, though, if you take your eyes off the road too long.
?
Pounds? How can she expected to translate while driving. Isn’t that British?
I have to go with the Driver that asked how did she or does anyone get their CDL without doing this as second nature. 13′ height limit…80,000 pounds weight limit for a standard truck. 40 tons Same thing. so a 6 ton limit…12,000 pounds…probably her tractor weighed that much alone and the trailer empty around 32,000 give or take a couple of thousand pounds. Other than that you are doing OW/OD and if a driver is doing that they certainly have their STUFF UP. If a driver doesn’t know what I have put in six small lines they have no business in the drivers seat of an 18-wheeler.
