The Heart Attack Challenge

This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of.

A man running in a “Krispy Kreme Challenge” race in North Carolina died on Saturday after dropping out of the race because of chest pains, according to race organizers.

The Krispy Kreme Challenge is an annual race which is organized by North Carolina State University students and benefits the N.C. Children’s Hospital.

Do you know what the challenge is?

You have to run 2 1/2 miles to a Krispy Kreme. Eat a dozen doughnuts, and then run back.

Unfortunately, Jeff Woods didn’t even get to eat the doughnuts. He died after running the first mile.

  1. My wife does a similar event. Team up with 2 other people, run a mile to Denny’s, slam 10 pancakes and then go run a 5K. They call it the Dine’N Dash Run, about 120 participants every year. I haven’t been able to understand it either.

  2. @Goldenfoxx; Thanks a bunch, now I have to clean up the mouth full of coffee I just spit on my keyboard, screen, table…..
RIP Mr. Woods. I wonder if they’ll put “Dying for Doughnut” on his headstone. What a dumb competition.

  3. Well, for one thing it’s disgusting. The participants press stacks of doughnuts together and dunk them in water and eat the soggy doughnuts as fast as they can.
In general, a number of the participants toss their cookies…err doughnuts at different stages of the race.
If I’m not mistaken, the race is the brain child of students attending NCSU/UNC.
Unless you’re young or really in shape, it’s a risky thing to do – just send a donation for the cause and live another day.

  4. Aw, fuck it!
If you can’t have fun dyin, when can ya?

Guy died doing a charity event … God Bless him … at least he wasn’t sitting around rotting from the inside out from a lifetime of corruption and hate, like Jimmy Carter and HR Clinton …
