“He was a natural born world shaker.”
My favorites were Airport and the Naked Gun films.
The boxing scene in Cool Hand Luke is one of the greatest scenes in movie history. He could do comedy like a champ too: Naked Gun.
Rest in Peace big guy.
Also, Mirage, a great film.
Now there was a Kennedy who actually did something worthwhile!
RIP
Enjoyed his work … the full gamut from evil to funny.
Whoever wrote this obituary, screwed up on his Oscar winning role. They say he won for playing a sadistic prison guard in Cool Hand Luke.
He was the likable big old prisoner who became Luke’s buddy.
I watched a Lewis and Clark documentary not very long ago that he hosted and narrated, he made it very interesting and enjoyable. Lewis & Clark: Crossing the Centuries.
“I was privileged to narrate it,” he said. “Programs like these show that television isn’t just a monumental wasteland.”
Kennedy says that his granddaughter, who is studying Lewis and Clark in grade school, thinks he’s cool. “I’m her hero now. I can pronounce Sacajawea all 4,000 ways.”
