Trump supports Obama’s assault weapons ban and Obama’s “mental health list” as to who may or may not own a gun.. that’s much much worse.
This letter is dated 1994. I have a memory like an elephant about this kind of thing, and I don’t trust Kasich on this issue (or a few others). However, Kasich has “evolved,” out of necessity, on the issue of guns. He’s signed every piece of pro-gun legislation that has crossed his desk as governor, and has raised his NRA rating up from an “F” to an “A.”
So why doesn’t Kasich get the same pass that Trump gets on this very same issue, on which Trump has “evolved” far more recently than Kasich? I ask that, of course, as someone who gives neither Kasich nor Trump a pass on any of their politically convenient evolutions.
@GollyG — Why wouldn’t you give Kasich a pass? From what you write, it appears he deserves one on this issue anyway.
Fine-he’s got a pass on this.
But not on his ramming through a huge expansion of MediCare without voter approval that will saddle Ohio taxpayers with billions in taxes in the coming years.
They all flow with every wind. It’s sickening.
No he doesn’t get a pass! He is a SON OF A MAILMAN!!!

Romney’s gonna campaign with him this week while Little Johnny wears a 3 foot high white suit and black bow tie for the Fantasy Island photo-shoot…
Nice work popping this up.
He is a machine guy. If he
has Romney with him, that’s
all that is needed to know.
They’re all politicians and all LYING POSs. 😡 Evolve? No they’re all snakes and all shed their skin periodically.
Politicians are like diapers. They should be changed often, and for the same reason. Ronald Reagan.
Yep. Give him a pass.
And let him pass on to the dustbin of History.
Looks like the fuckin Church Lady wringing his hands and whining.
I have no doubt that’s he’s as decent a man as can possibly be after spending his life hogging at the gov’t trough – but that doesn’t make him Presidential material – and we’ve had enough self-serving maggots at that position destroying this country.

Who is Kasich? Does he work for Rubio?
I don’t trust The Donald. Also, he says the stupidest shit possible when it comes to economics. %45 Tariff on China for example. I fall in the Milton Friedman group for economics. With that said, I plan to vote for Kasich, no matter what stupid shit he says or positions he has taken past or present. Kasich has’t a chance nationally but he could win Ohio. I hope to be able to vote for Cruz this November.

@Ohio Dan — There are other articles in favor of Trump’s economics plans, but this one was from Breitbart is a good start. Larry Kudlow talks about Trump’s proposed corporate tax rates and repatriation of offshore U.S. money. Kudlow is also not in favor of tariff punishment but concedes that it will take tough measures to turn the tide of foreign currency manipulation and I think it will take something like this to wean Americans off the crack of cheap foreign goods. We can’t have it both ways — losing millions of living wage jobs (and the pace is accelerating) versus temporarily cheap consumer goods. At some point, even our so-called “service” job wages will not keep up with the rising cost of “cheap” goods. Where are we then? As these countries continue to prosper, which China undoubtedly has from its American trade and markets, the price of their goods will also go way up.
And, as Plain Jane pointed out a few days ago, I’d rather buy a well-made American sweater, for example, made out of new wool (and nothing else), than five cheap — nearly disposable — sweaters from China or Malaysia. Americans have to start thinking in terms of overall value again, instead of satisfying short-term desires. it seems like a small enough sacrifice when so much is on the line, doesn’t it?
This Ohioan is voting for Cruz and has been waiting to do so since he was first elected to the Senate. I’ve seen very little to change my mind on that in the years since, even though this primary seems more like watching the Republican Party commit suicide with all of the ridiculous behavior from the candidates and their respective fans.
