RIP Frank Sinatra Jr.

(NEWSER) – Frank Sinatra Jr., who carried on his famous father’s legacy with his own music career, has died at age 72. The Sinatra family said in a statement to the AP that Sinatra died unexpectedly Wednesday of cardiac arrest while on tour in Daytona Beach, Florida. No other details were provided. Sinatra Jr. was famously in the headlines at age 19 when he was kidnapped and held for ransom, recounts Variety. He was taken while at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe and released two days later when his father paid $240,000 in ransom. The younger Sinatra was already pursuing a music career of his own by then. In the 1980s, he put that on hold temporarily to work as his father’s musical director and conductor.

  1. The Sinatra kids never really made it big like their Dad, but nevertheless, they did have talent. It’s always difficult to follow in ones shoes. Nancy’s biggest hit was Boots are Made for Walking, and I have no idea what Frank Jr. was famous for. RIP.
