AmericanThinker: To reform our crumbling healthcare system, presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders advocates what he calls Medicare-for-All. The name is disingenuous, a falsehood. What he is pushing is MediCAID-for-All.
Medicare is a health savings account where you pre-pay your future medical expenses. You pay a portion of your paycheck each month for forty years. Washington holds that money in a trust. When you retire, the money you saved is used to cover your old-age medical costs. Medicare is not and never was an entitlement: you paid for it.
Medicaid is an entitlement for low-income Americans. Washington, working through the states, gives no-charge government-approved health insurance to 70 million Americans. In contrast to Medicare, Medicaid recipients pay nothing. Read More
There are apparently already ~30 million people that have bought the bullshit.
Should he actually get the nomination, the Hillary supporters will face the same dilemma that Cruz supporters will face. In the end I don’t see the REgressives acting as stupidly as Cruzbots. I just don’t see the vitriol coming from the left that I do on our side.
“Washington holds that money…..”
Hahahahahahahahahaha!
Medicare IS an entitlement. Many people get it who never paid into the system. Once someone qualifies for social security disability they usually get on Medicare also. The Cloward Piven strategy is working with millions getting on disability since 2008, SSI/SSDI is scheduled to go broke this year, and the shrinking minority of us who actually pay taxes are going to take in the shorts again regardless of who becomes president.
Bernie calls himself a “Democratic Socialist.”
You know who else called himself that because the Russians were afraid of the word “Communist”? V.I. Lenin.
No thanks. With private health insurance I was able to beat cancertain three times, and will have been in remission for ten years on April 28. The total freight for the whole episode, from initial diagnosis to post-illness checkups, was around $300,000. My out-of-pocket for deductibles, co-pays, etc. has been less than $3,000.
I don’t have nearly as much faith in the government.
No selling necessary. Just simply put it in the masses of asses heads that they deserve it and never address any of its unconstitutionality. Walk on down Pennsylvania Ave. to 1600 and continue to destroy what little is left of America.
This is the same guy that claimed the bread lines in socialist countries were good things because in the countries with no lines, the rich were eating all the bread and everybody else was starving.
Saying that Bernie is not too bright is an understatement.
One more thing.
Bernie needs to start cleaning his phone after watching porn on it.
That is disgusting.
As ignorant and mal-educated as people are today, I’d venture a guess that you could just about sell em anything if it’s packaged as “free,” “organic,” “green,” or “non-LGBT-offensive.”
izlamo delenda est …
Medicaid requires the states to try to get reimbursement after you die, by putting a lien on your property. There’s no ‘free insurance’ except for those who have nothing, never had anything and won’t ever have anything. The rest of us have to pay and pay some more.
Medicare is an entitlement. The money you pay in medicare tax is just a tax, to be used any way the Govt want to. The money they pay to you in health benefits is compelled from other people by taxing them. At best, it is a Ponzi scheme. At worst, it is generational wealth transfer from the younger have-nots to the older haves.
No One is spot on. All non means tested entitlements to the “elderly” amount to no more than the generation in power stealing from the generation not yet in power.
A massive wealth transfer from the poorest age group to the richest.
Will the young keep this up? When it reaches 20% (very soon), 25%? 50%?
Many young people are choosing to take the approach that the older generation has. Even though able bodied, sit on your butt for years and get a check from the government.
When this process started the vast majority of people did not live long enough to ever receive anything. It was designed to protect those who had reached a point where they could no longer work.
If we corrected the system to what it was intended, payments would not start until about age 75 or 78.
JohnS,
Why is ANY-fuckin-BODY “entitled” to my labor and wealth?
And why are we (as a nation) endeavoring to save the cancer and kill the patient?
“… the vast majority of people did not live long enough to ever receive anything …” – Absolute PROOF it was a scam from the beginning, is now, and ever shall be!
WAKE THE FUCK UP, AMERICA!

Tim I think you misread my post. I was clear that I consider the situation theft, and I have a low opinion of the thieves.
I have more respect for someone who robs me in person than someone who hires a gang (the government) to do it for them.
I don’t like the theft I have endured, and the knowledge that it will be far worse for those who come after me does not entice me to participate.
JohnS,
I didn’t “misread” anything.
You did, indeed, mention that it is generational theft, and then, towards the end, you offer a suggestion on how to “fix” it and justify its intention, as if it were somehow worthy in its inception. To wit: “If we corrected the system to what it was intended, payments would not start until about age 75 or 78.”
I stand by my assertion that it is a cancer, and that NO ONE is “ENTITLED” to my labor.
izlamo delenda est …
Tim, that is what it is called. I didn’t give it that name. It has had that name for almost 80 years.
Look at the government budget, ‘entitlement programs’.
I don’t approve of the way some words have been twisted, but I am powerless to change or reverse it.
JohnS,
Not arguing semantics.
I’m done with this.
