Yahoo: Musician Ringo Starr said on Wednesday he was canceling a performance planned for June in Cary, North Carolina, in protest of a state law decried as discriminatory against the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community.
“I’m sorry to disappoint my fans in the area, but we need to take a stand against this hatred,” the former drummer for The Beatles said in a statement. “Spread peace and love.” more here

Why do they keep referring to it as an anti-LGBTQ law? Lesbians, Gays and Bisexuals aren’t clamouring to use the bathrooms of the opposite sex. In fact, I have conservative Lesbian friends who are pissed about the idea of biological men using the Ladies’ Room. Just yesterday, one of them said that she’s not happy about being lumped in with the transgendered, and another said she’s sick of it as well, stating “I’m a Lesbian, and I don’t want a biological male using the same bathroom. Don’t they have stalls in the men’s room?” And, no, these two women are not man-haters.
As the mother of two cute, petite young women, I certainly don’t want a biological male in the women’s room with them. My oldest daughter, a 23 year old, tips the scales at 110 pounds. And while I’m sure that most transgendered have no desire to harm her or any other woman, there are men who will use transgenderism as a cover to get into the ladies’ rooms in order to film or even physically harm any lone woman in there. This is a safety issue.
