FOX Sports: No one outside of maybe Bryce Harper made more headlines in baseball than Adam LaRoche did this spring. The on-again, off-again drama with LaRoche and his son Drake became the topic of conversation in spring training, surpassing anything that happened on the field.
As it turns out however, that pales in comparison to what LaRoche did this offseason.
A wide-ranging piece on LaRoche, retirement and everything in between was released by ESPN on Wednesday, and in it author Tim Keown explained that LaRoche worked undercover in Southeast Asia trying to catch sex traffickers.
LaRoche gets it.
This needs to hit the mainstream. What an incredible story.
Golly, what a toss up. Who’d you rather?
Extremist Christian or Extremist muzz ?
I read this article on Fox and I too was duly impressed, then I went to this E3 meat website because I’d like to support the near local rancher and so forth…$25 dollars a pound for ribeye….$7 dollars a pound for hamburger…well, slap my ass and call me Jimbo….c’mon man, give the average family a break….I can go up the road to a more local custom butcher with the same grade of beef and get it for 50% less….I think he’s retiring well…fuck him…
Move over Dos Equis guy. Adam is the most interesting man in the world.
What a great guy! I still don’t agree with him taking his son to work every day.but this is man of the year stuff.
Adam LaRoche and Gil Meche a former pitcher for the KC Royals and Seattle Mariners are two of my heroes. Adam Laroche for confronting the evils of underage prostitution in SE Asia and Gil Meche for walking away from a very lucrative contract that could’ve paid him tens of millions of dollars because he knew he couldn’t give the Royals the effort anymore for what they were paying him, he knew his baseball career was over so he gave back the money because he didn’t feel entitled to it anymore. We need more athletes and good people in general to stand up for what’s right and know that there are definitely things far more important in life than baseball. May God bless both these gentlemen. Anybody who rescues is a hero in my book, whether it’s unborn children, underage prostitutes, sex slaves etc. Believe me it takes a lot of courage and faith and trust in God to be a rescuer of any kind.
