aol: The chain said Tuesday that it wanted to clarify its position on the issue, in light of recent debates in state legislatures across the country around the appropriateness of transgender bathrooms.

“We welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity,” the retailer said in a statement. “Everyone deserves to feel like they belong. And you’ll always be accepted, respected and welcomed at Target.”

  14. So a real life trans man-to-woman walks into the women’s bathroom, but he doesn’t “look” like a real-to-life one, he looks like a privileged white cracker. Some lady freaks out and screams calls security. Security secures the trans and calls the cops. Cops come and potentially charge him with exactly what punishment? So when he “proves” he’s a real trans, how much can he sue the state (taxpayers) and the company for?

    That said, when the man-to-woman trans has to prove the transition how is that done when he lifts his skirt and the berries are blowing in the wind?

  18. Thanks to HB2, Target has that option and has no legal consequence for choosing their own policy. Under the Charlotte law, they would be REQUIRED to do what they are doing. I prefer free choice over mandates. I am sure that somewhere in their press release Target thanked North Carolina for allowing private business to choose their own policy just like they think people should be able to choose their own gender, right?

  22. Target has been swirling the “toilet bowl” for the last decade. Kicked out Salvation Army, change “girls” and “boys” sections to some stupid gender-free thing, no guns allowed, and now men with sticks can abuse women and girls in bathrooms and changing rooms.

    I let my Target credit card die several years ago and haven’t missed it since.

    I think the same company that own Target also owns Macys and they have been letting men in the women’s changing room for years.

  24. I shopped there back home. Out of town working for a while and none around here. Will text my family and friends tomorrow and warn them that Target now facilitates men feeling comfortable in the same restroom and fitting room as their daughters, and to not another dime there. They will hear from me with a phone call and email. I suspect the pushback will be massive.

    This shit has to stop.

    Is there a limit on how many “trans” one can be?

    I honestly have no idea how to keep up with this crap.

  29. Have not been in a Target since they put so much money into Kerry’s run for the White House. Why the hell do they buckle under to .0001% of the population? I’d consider going back it they’d man up and tell those freaks to go eff themselves. For now, I’ll just tell everyone Target wants the sickest, most depraved, and the weirdest bastards in the same bathroom as lovely young sweet and innocent girls.

  31. As a private business,I support targets right to run their business any way they see fit. I’ll also support the lawsuits that are to follow as women are assaulted by freaks who use this policy to victimize target shoppers. This will only go badly.

  40. I’ve been to Target a thousand times, many different Target’s around the country. I can honestly say that I have never, not once, used a Target bathroom. When women learn that 99% of the transgendered males decided to use their bathroom, they will rethink this “progressive progress”. Men could care less if women use the men’s room. Just don’t bitch that we left the seats up.
