City Manager Blows Stop Sign — Then the Sign Disappears

City manager Ryan Snow, of Roosevelt, Utah, blows a stop sign. (Red Truck)

The cop issues a ticket. Snow says he didn’t go through the sign and is going to fight it. A few days later the stop sign is sawed off at the ground and his ticket is dismissed by the city attorney.

  1. “The town seems split . . . ” I have no doubt that Ryan Snow is a mormon (Ryan is a common mormon name) as is the city attorney and half the town. Mormons protect their own. It’s the non-mormons in the town that want to prosecute this guy.

  2. If the red truck ran the stop sign, then so did the green truck right behind him. Trooper & camera witnessed both.

I don’t think the sign was sawed off. Dismantled, yes.

That thing in the ground is a receptacle for the post not the post itself. I also don’t see any saw marks on that perfectly level top. I’ve sawed a lot of metal. It doesn’t look like that at all when you’re done doing a quick cut. No burrs and perfectly even – it’s a receptacle that makes repairs quick and easy if you run over it.
