We’ve Ignored This Bush Clip Long Enough

I chose to ignore this clip when it appeared a few days ago, I didn’t want Bush discussion to overshadow the reason for this event, but I’ve been getting it sent to me way too much to simply sweep it under the rug.

In case you missed it, Dubya was acting a little too inappropriately for many tastes at the Dallas Police Officer’s memorial.

Here’s the clip. Have at it in the comments.

Bush could very well have a Christian explanation for his demeanor that could stop you in your tracks, but I can’t speak for him. Maybe he was drunk. Who knows?

  1. And so, once again, Obama goes too far and gets called on it, and all we hear is, “Yeah, but look what Bush did”. He must feel it’s his calling to be Obama’s eternal scapegoat. “Soft bigotry of low expectations”, indeed.

  2. It is well within Christian worship to feel the spirit in music, and to move with it.

Anyone who thinks this is somehow disrespectful should be reminded that Bathhouse Barry opened his remarks WITH A FREAKING JOKE!

  3. This is much ado about meh. The most logical explanation is that W hears this song all the time in the church that he attends regularly. It’s a spiritual song made to uplift the congregation. I’m guessing he’s actually probably toning it DOWN for the funeral.
It’s not like he’s cackling and taking selfies of himself at Mandella’s funeral.

  4. It just looks strange because no one else is feeling it like Bush is at that moment.
If Bush was gay the left wouldn’t say one word about him in the clip.
Maybe he should be wearing a thong, or a turban.

  5. This is a former President of the United States attending a memorial service for the victims of a heartless, relentless mass murderer.

Grinning? Dancing? Having a good time? Enjoying his bad self?
    Don’t think so.
Bush has gotta hoist his flat ass back on the wagon.

  6. He’s trying to wrestle his hand free because Mooch is crushing it, without making it look too obvious.

It does look strange considering the occasion, but as Irony said, it’s not like he’s taking selfies and laughing. Considering all the classless behavior of the 0bamas we’ve been subjected to over the past 8 years, I give W a pass on this. Let them man sway.

  7. Feeling the Holy spirit, praising the Lord.
Many raise their hands above their head to Praise the Lord.
What is unacceptable to man is not necessarily what is unacceptable to God.
A Memorial is a “Celebration of Life” of the deceased, who they touched, what they did and the Love they shared with family, friends and their community. Certainly they are sorely missed, yet they live through those they touched during their life.

    But, those are my thoughts.

  8. He actually thought he was in New Orleans and was participating in a joyous funeral celebration, and especially so since he was standing next to two Africans that believed that the white cops got what they well deserved!

  9. It’s a joyful song. I’m RC and even us “stiff” RCs move joyfully when it is the hymn sung during the recessional after the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on holiday weekends.

  10. @Cato – I agree that a memorial service is a celebration of life. I don’t see anything wrong with W’s actions.

The only request my father had for his funeral was that “Onward Christian Soldiers” be played as the casket was being taken out of the funeral home — loud and “peppy” to put a smile on everyone’s face. There were many people that got caught up in the song the way W did Tuesday. We knew my dad was looking down smiling. 🙂

  11. I think you have it all wrong. Bush was jubilant because he knows how much everybody misses him and that OBozo is such a dud that Bush couldn’t contain his Joy knowing that OBozo is going down in flames. Sue me if I’m wrong.

  12. No disrespect shown by W…I would rather watch him get into the moment of a celebration of life than look at Moochelle’s naked arms wherever she goes. Does the Mooch not own a dress with sleeves?

  13. No problem with this whatsoever. Besides, it sounds like a pretty rousing rendition of a beautiful song. I miss W. He was by no means a perfect conservative, but I never doubted for a second that he at least loved America.

  14. Obviously a lot of you went to stodgy churches that expected everyone to stand perfectly still while singing hymns.
That hymn is not a dirge, it is a powerful hymn with a marching beat. If you open up and let it in, it will make you move.
The amount of life in the others souls showed at that moment.

  15. HA!!!!

At the end of the clip you can almost hear Laura saying “George! Stahp!”

I used to be a Pentecostal, and moving to music like that in a spiritual service is pretty darn near normal.

Other than that, I’m thinking dementia. God bless Dubya.

  16. I think Merry Poppet nailed it. Mooch has his hand in a death grip and he’s moving around trying to regain blood circulation.
Mooch can open coconuts just by giving them a limpy with her ring finger.

And George made the 0bamas look like a couple of asses. Kind of an upgrade for them, I suppose. But it was obvious that they didn’t know how to act during a non-moslem worship song. Laughing was the wrong choice, especially for a fag sitting in the president’s seat. (not going to call that traitor a sitting president)
