22 Comments on Trump’s Entrance

  1. I suppose my idea of riding a rearing elephant while firing twin mini guns as two flag carrying bald eagles glare from each shoulder was not acceptable for TV

  2. He should come out and karate kick both of 0bama’s Roman columns.

Then they should drop confetti and Trump can announce it is Mrs clinton’s 30,000 shredded emails.

  3. Self depreciating, Trump is not.
If this kind of thing is important to his fans, then I understand him adding it to his routine.
I always thought a mosh pit would show up at a Democrat convention first, but we may be breaking out ahead in the race to get there.

  4. Aggie, a person who says “what difference at this point does it matter” should refrain from calling others fools.
I don’t like the whole celebrity cult of personality bit when the Democrats play it.
I like it even less when Republicans do it.
These ego fests were rightly denounced when Obama did them. Trump doing it does not make it any more palatable.
if we want entertainment or a Rock star, there are plenty of people much more entertaining and charismatic than Trump.
I want a leader, not Elvis.
I want political discourse, not showmanship.
I thought Trump was better than this. He didn’t do this kind of egotistical crap on the campaign trail.
So drown me out with down twinkles and hide your embarrassment.

  5. “Peisistratos returned to Athens and rode into the city in a golden chariot accompanied by a tall woman appearing to be Athena.”

    THAT was in ~550 BC.

Playing to the crowd has ALWAYS been politically acceptable.

“So drown me out with down twinkles and hide your embarrassment.”

Not necessary – your ignorance of History should be enough of an embarrassment.

  6. Johns, you’re just in over your head.

Self deprecation is ecaxcly what Trump does, often, all the while mocking the left and the neocons as we all laugh along. Well, those of us who don’t have to buy a clue my way.

You don’t really want a leader, that would mean you might have to actually humble yourself.

You do have political discourse but you do your darned best to ignore it. You like to be lied to, it satisfies your desire to feel superior to the billionaire businessman who uses plain talk.

Puh-lease, you never thought Trump was better than this… he dindnt do any of this egotistical crap on the campaign trail? I’m beginning to feel bad trying to engage with some one who appears to have Alzheimer’s.

The gay reference again…giggle. There have got to be better ways for you to get your game on that way…seriously.

  7. JohnS wrote “self depreciating” not “self deprecating.”

I’m sure he was making an offhand reference to taxes … well, sorta sure …

  8. How did that ‘i’ slip in there.
One of the downsides to being a cunning linguist is the creation of high expectations.
Now it is true that Trump was depreciating until recently. He has stabilized and very well may reverse that trend.
I just don’t see how acting like a rock star walking out on stage to a crowd of adoring teenagers will accomplish that.

  9. On July 19, in reference to Trump’s entrance HilLIARy Clinton stated that a smoke machine was in use.

    There was no smoke machine.

Even NPR called her out on that this morning.
