Despite Some of the Lowest NYC Crime Rates the City Has Ever Seen Bratton Resigns as Police Commissioner Amidst Activist Calls For Resignation

Bratton has been threatening to resign for awhile now. His departure should not be seen as a “victory” for BLM sh!tstains, or otherwise.

Yesterday-

NY Post –

About 200 anti-police protesters gathered for more than 12 hours in City Hall Park Monday to demand the “defunding” of the NYPD, but didn’t fulfill their vow to “occupy” the park overnight.

Millions March NYC, which shares some goals with Black Lives Matter, demanded that Mayor de Blasio fire Police Commissioner Bill Bratton and deliver reparations to victims of police brutality.

The group, which is also seeking the dismantling of the NYPD — with its budget diverted to needy communities — started gathering at 9 a.m and held orientation sessions.

Protesters held up signs bearing such messages as, “We see police get away with murder.”

“We’re not interested in having any closed-door discussions with politicians. We invite them to come to the park and speak to the community,” said one member, Nabil Hassein.

The group tweeted out to its nearly 13,000 followers: “Yes we are anti-police violence. We are also anti-police.”

While the protesters had promised to stay in the park until their demands were met, those who stayed all day avoided a confrontation with cops by leaving when it closed at midnight, moving to nearby West Plaza, which is open 24 hours.

They promised to return to City Hall Park when it reopened in the morning.

Today –

NY Post-

NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton will announce his impending resignation and be replaced by Chief of Department James O’Neill, sources told The Post on Tuesday.

Bratton’s resignation will take effect in mid-September, sources said.

Bratton has repeatedly said he would not serve past the end of Mayor Bill de Blasio’s current term, which ends next year, and he recently endorsed O’Neill as his preferred successor.

O’Neill was promoted to chief of department in late 2014 to replace Philip Banks, who unexpectedly quit rather than be promoted to first deputy commissioner.

Why his departure should worry every New Yorker.

  1. So, saying that you’re anti-NYPD, is like saying you’re #NeverTrump.
    anti-NYPD = FOR Crime.
    #NeverTrump = FOR Hellery.

I don’t think either group has thought their positions all the way through to their ultimate conclusions. And I don’t think either group would like the results if they DID get their way.

Fortunately for New Yawkers and America, I don’t think that will happen. Thank goodness.

  2. Hell, he shouldn’t have supported any successor and left De Blasio to pick someone from the BLM mob to be the police commissioner. About a week of that and widespread Blue Flu and New York would have descended into an Urban Jurassic Park.

  3. So, let the PURGE begin. Thugs rule, law abiding citizens will drool after the thuggery gets into high gear.

I think NYC needs a wall to keep the citizens in, like in the movie ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK. How prophetic was that movie!!
